Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the premier manager of ultra-luxury properties throughout the world, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Florent Gateau as Managing Director of Acqualina, A Rosewood Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, effective September 1, 2006.

Gateau, a Rosewood Hotels & Resorts veteran, first joined the company in 1997 as Resort Manager of Las Ventanas al Paraíso. Gateau was instrumental in opening the all-suite resort, which has become one of the most prestigious Five-Star, Five-Diamond resorts in the world. In 2003, he became Hotel Manager of The Mansion on Turtle Creek, A Rosewood Hotel, where he oversaw the Food & Beverage department, which accounted for more than half of the hotel's total revenues.

"Having previously worked at two of our other internationally renowned, award-winning properties, Mr. Gateau brings a wealth of experience to his new post with us," said Robert Boulogne, COO of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. "Through his commitment to excellence and his strong leadership skills, Gateau has earned the respect of his team members in every position he has held at Rosewood and we have tremendous confidence that his previous successes at Rosewood and in the Florida market will enable him to lead Acqualina to a great future."

Since May of 2004, Gateau has been with GHM Hotels and Aman Resorts where, as Hotel Manager, he opened GHM's first hotel in the Americas, The Setai, in Miami, Florida. Gateau first began his hospitality career at the Sofitel Hotel in Miami, as Assistant Restaurant Manager, and prior to joining Rosewood in 1997, he held positions at The Grand Bay Hotel in Coconut Grove, Florida, the Sonesta Beach Hotel and Resort, in Key Biscayne, Florida and The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C.
