• After Milan (2007) and Berlin (2010), nhow Rotterdam is the third nhow hotel in the world and the first one in the Netherlands

• nhow Rotterdam offers renowned artists, celebrated designers and upcoming local talent, a platform to share progressive urban art

The month of January was the date chosen for nhow Rotterdam, which combines design, art and architecture, to open its doors in this avant-garde Dutch city. The hotel has, throughout its 23 floors, a total of 278 rooms, nine meeting rooms, a skyline bar, a restaurant, and a rooftop terrace with spectacular views of the river Maas.

Powerful contrasts

Concrete and metal, finished with gold-colored accents. Videowalls, contemporary art pieces and acknowledged architecture. nhow Rotterdam gains strength from contrasts and combines that with the latest technology, 278 luxury rooms and creativity in every corner. Put all this in an impressive location with an iconic view of one of the most artistic cities of The Netherlands, and you get more than just a place to stay. The only hotel ever designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA architecture studio is located in the biggest building of Europe, ‘De Rotterdam’ on the Wilhelminakade street, and is just as progressive and innovative as the city itself. Since opening, nhow Rotterdam hosts various works of local artists that reflect their own views on Rotterdam. The resulting artwork is displayed in the hotel, and is constantly renewed to keep inspiring and surprising the guests. Staying in nhow Rotterdam, is staying in Rotterdam.

Manhattan along the Maas

The part of Rotterdam where nhow Rotterdam is located is also known as ‘Manhattan along the Maas’ and is a melting pot of creatives, artistic visions and a spectacular skyline. In this neighbourhood filled with museums and restaurants with kitchens from all over the world you can find the famous Luxor Theatre where frequent festivals and parties are organised. But nhow Rotterdam has much more to offer. Besides the fact that ‘De Rotterdam’ is an architectural masterpiece, from now on people can eat, drink, do business, relax and of course sleep in this ‘Vertical City’. nhow Rotterdam is the perfect meeting point for locals who want to find out more about the city, tourists and business (wo)men thanks to its nine beautiful conference rooms with an iconic view.

Elevate your Stay

nhow defines a new generation of hotels: unconventional, life-affirmative, cosmopolitan and always on the move. It reinterprets spaces, times and services in such as way that from the very beginning; as soon as you enter the hotel, from the corridors to the rooms, it wraps you up. As a synthesis of a new style of enjoying life, nhow brings in an up to now unseen level of hospitality and aims to become the benchmark for the most innovative cultural, social and artistic movements of the big cities, globalised and constantly changing.

The nhow concept is a new lifestyle brand of NH Hotel Group and is being rolled out in The Netherlands for the first time. Even whilst ‘De Rotterdam’ was in the development phase, the Group knew that nhow Rotterdam had to be located there. “The idea behind nhow is that each hotel, in contrast to the recognized appearance and experience of the locations of the Company, has its own identity, derived from the city in which it is located,” explains general manager, Sander Creemers, of nhow Rotterdam. “Each hotel has its own personality where people like to gather, not only to have a business meeting or to spend the night, but also as a meeting point to soak up the nightlife.”

Currently, besides Rotterdam, the cities of Milan and Berlin are part of the exclusive catalogue where nhow has opened its doors with an excellent response from customers. nhow Milan, designed by Matteo Thun and Daniele Beretta, combines design and fashion. The hotel shares the district with Elite modeling agency and the boutiques of prestigious brands like La Perla, Tod's, Diesel or Giorgio Armani’s atelier. Meanwhile, nhow Berlin, designed by Sergei Tchoban and decorated by Karim Rashid, is focused on the design and music. The hotel, which has two professional recording studios and an instrument room service, is located in the heart of two of the most vibrant and groundbreaking neighborhoods of Berlin's creative scene: the districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg at the shore of the Spree river.

The official opening will take place next March. Meanwhile, all the people who want to stay, hold meetings, know the hotel or visit an art exhibition can book and find out more information at www.nhow-hotels.com.
