The Sheraton Orlando North raised its flag today to commemorate its official opening following an extensive, multi-million dollar renovation. Situated in the Maitland Center corporate park, the luxurious, 390-room hotel opened its doors at 600 N. Lake Destiny Drive. The property's proximity to Interstate-4 assures easy access to the Orlando International Airport, Downtown Orlando, and major Orlando theme parks, shopping malls, restaurants and golf courses. The completely renovated hotel houses 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, restaurant, bar, state-of-the-art business center, fitness center, Starbucks(R) Coffee Store, Concierge Lounge, gift shop and more.

"We're delighted to welcome guests to North Orlando's premier upscale conference and lodging facility," said Peter Valenzuela, general manager. "This flag raising marks the completion of a spectacular, year-long renovation. Guests here will find everything they need now, from richly appointed guest rooms and cool pool with water features to majestic ballroom and world-class catering and event planning services."

The new Sheraton Orlando North is owned in partnership with Philadelphia-based AMC Delancey Group, Inc., and Paramount Hotel Group, LLC, based in Fairfield, N.J. Paramount will also operate the property. To date, the hotel has created more than 200 hospitality jobs. Offering nightly rates of $109 - $229, the property will be a welcome addition to the five million-square-foot Maitland Corporate Center as well as to the community.

"We are thrilled to add this outstanding property to our Sheraton portfolio," said Chad Waetzig, senior vice president, marketing for Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. "With its upscale style and finishes that speak so well to the Sheraton brand, this hotel exudes comfort. Add to that its prime location, and this property does an exceptional job of fulfilling the needs of business and leisure travelers alike."

Warm Welcome

The new Sheraton Orlando North incorporates the original six-story structure that was gutted to re-establish itself as a new building with interiors by the award-winning Tischler Haus Design Group. The refurbished rotunda lobby offers a warm and elegant ambiance with plush seating, bright persimmon walls and marble floors with patterned carpet inlay.

The newly designed guest rooms and suites continue the warm welcome with soothing tones of creamy beige, chocolate brown and persimmon. Offering the comforts of home and more, each 350-square-foot room has contemporary, dark mahogany and walnut furnishings and sleek, brushed stainless steel accents.

In every guestroom guests will find a comfortable sitting area with soft wingback chair, oversized desk and ergonomically designed chair. Aiming to assure a good night's sleep, each room features the signature, nine-layered, custom-designed Sheraton Sweet Sleeper (sm) Bed with an 11.5-inch-thick, high-coil-count, plush-top mattress; down and allergy-sensitive pillows, and crisp, luxurious bedding. High-tech amenities abound, including: free high-speed Internet access; data ports, and wall-mounted, flat-panel LCD television.

Premier Meeting Facility

The new Sheraton Orlando North has 15,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, accommodating groups of up to 900 people. Guests choose from 16 rooms designed for events from strategic meetings to parties, reunions and weddings. The space includes meeting rooms, conference rooms, executive boardrooms, 50-seat tiered classroom with theater-style lighting and grand ballroom. Each room is equipped for high-speed Internet access, video conferencing as well as audio-visual and multimedia presentations.

At 7,500 square feet, the majestic ballroom sets the stage for memorable events with soaring, 15-foot ceilings; towering palms and rich mahogany furnishings. For smaller events, the space divides into four rooms, ranging in size from 700 - 7,500 square feet. Outdoor functions present an alternative option for events on the hotel's manicured lawn surrounded by lush tropical gardens.

Assisting every step of the way is the certified meeting concierge. The Sheraton Orlando North's Grande Planning package includes: comprehensive support from the on-site audio-visual department, gourmet catering, 24-hour call service for planners, and assistance in developing creative themes to transform reception spaces into memorable destinations.

For weddings and celebrations, the grand ballroom accommodates up to 500 guests. The on-staff wedding planner assists to create unforgettable events with the comprehensive Grande Wedding & Event Planning Services, covering everything from rehearsal dinner through reception.

Grande Service & Amenities

The Sheraton Orlando North's atrium next to the lobby serves as a gathering place for event attendees, hotel guests and the local community. Columns topped by eight-foot custom light fixtures shine like stars at night onto the surrounding glass walls and ceiling.

In the 150-seat Grande Cafe, guests enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in a casual atmosphere, with settees draped in soft luxurious fabric, high-back chairs and rich mahogany back wall. Breakfast pastries and grab-and-go lunch fare also are available at the on-site Starbucks(R) Coffee Store.
