Great Hotels of the World (http://www.ghotw.com), the London-based hotel sales and marketing alliance, is pleased to announce that three of its member hotels won awards at the annual Awards Dinner held in November at the May Fair Hotel in London.
According to Condé Nast Johansens, “these awards recognise and celebrate the excellence of the establishments which are recommended in our guides.”
AR Diamante Beach won “Best for Meetings”. The hotel in Calpe, Spain, opened in 2006 and has over 2000sqm of modular meeting space. A Conde Nast spokesman explains: “While climbers explore the rugged geology and depths of the rock, AR Diamante Beach attracts climbers of the corporate ladder kind. This is because Diamante has one helluva conference centre with huge, open space." Its unbeatable beachfront location is ideal for teambuilding activities, gala dinners and cocktail parties.
According to an official statement by the hotel: “After years striving to become one of Spain’s best hotels, to obtain this award on a European scale means a lot to us. We are convinced that we have won this award thanks to our great team, who love what they do and work each day in order to constantly improve, both on a personal and professional level.”

Monsignor della Casa Country Resort & Spa won “Best for Families”. The Italian countryside retreat, imbued with 500 years of fascinating history, boasts impeccable service and renowned gourmet cuisine. According to Conde Nast: "There are so many highlights it's difficult to know where to start. Monsignor Della Casa is set in acres of undulating Tuscan countryside, just a short drive from the charms of Florence." Monsignor della Casa prides itself on its unique offering – where else can you go truffle hunting with trained dogs and then relax with a holistic treatment at the world-class natural spa? Set in Borgo di San Lorenzo, near to Florence, the Monsignor della Casa is a world apart.

Back in Spain, Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque was awarded “Best Destination Hotel” – an award it shares with the Inverlochy Castle Hotel in Scotland. According to Conde Nast: “Gran Hotel Bahía del Duque Resort in Tenerife is a cluster of impeccable villas. So sublimely luxurious, you needn't step out of the resort into the 'Island Of The Eternal Spring'."
The award was received by General Manager Santiago Cabré, who dedicated it to the staff of the hotel, who, “thanks to their impeccable work, our guests appreciate the value of exclusivity, excellence in service and the personal attention we offer.”
