Having a renowned brand such as the Raffles Hotels & Resorts, with its outstanding 10 properties all over Asia and Europe, join the ranks of so many other distinguished hotel members, now firmly establishes CH in the minds of responsible hoteliers all around the world.
CH’s main focus is to encourage and assist hoteliers to adopt economically, socially and environmentally sustainable policies and ethical practices. These should enhance the viability of the hotels’ businesses, the environment and the quality of the experience for their guests, staff and visitors. In order to help achieve this objective CH offers its members a series of hugely enhanced services some of which they can access via the ‘Members Only’ Knowledge Hub, an on-line arena rich with information on sustainability issues relevant predominantly to the hotel sector.
John Firrell, Executive Director and Founder Member of Considerate Hoteliers Association regards the recent international expansion as a natural step, given the organisation’s 22 years of experience within this sector. He stresses that “much of what can be achieved by hotels who wish to be both considerate and sustainable does not rely on international borders. With the application of common sense and commitment a lot can be done, often without major investment. We are delighted to welcome Raffles Hotels & Resorts into the CH family – they are in great company and bring with them a stunning reputation as a distinguished hotel brand. They are the first of what we believe will be many. The world of hotels has just become more considerate.”
Diana Banks, Vice President, Brand Strategy for Raffles Hotels & Resorts says;“Raffles Hotels & Resorts has joined the Considerate Hoteliers group as we believe that our luxury hotels can both contribute to, and benefit from the depth of experience Considerate Hoteliers has in this field. We will continue to build on the work we have done in every destination that we are in, whether it is Singapore, Cambodia or Paris, in behaving responsibly towards the community and operating with a social conscience.”
ABOUT CONSIDERATE HOTELIERS:Created in 1991 Considerate Hoteliers is the first association of like-minded hoteliers, whose purpose it is to encourage, assist, cajole and motivate fellow hoteliers to adopt sustainable, environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices. A list of current members can be found at www.consideratehoteliers.com .
In 2013 CH is still the only association worldwide run by hoteliers for hoteliers to impart the message that care for the environment and social responsibility should form a major part of a responsible hotelier's agenda and has therefore decided to extend its reach into Europe and beyond, whilst adding extensively to its knowledge hub for the benefit of member hotels old and new.
