Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group appoints Susan Mason as vice president, Franchise Operations, Radisson

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of 28-year Carlson Rezidor veteran Susan Mason as vice president, Franchise Operations, Radisson, Americas, effective April 15, 2013. She will report to Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Radisson, and executive vice president, owned and managed hotels, Americas.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the appointment of 28-year Carlson Rezidor veteran Susan Mason as vice president, Franchise Operations, Radisson, Americas, effective April 15, 2013. “I am delighted that we identified such a strong internal candidate with a solid hotel operations background and Radisson brand knowledge for the position,” said Rosenberg. “Susan has intimate knowledge of our systems and strengths and, for the past seven years, has been focused on driving results and compliance in the franchised organization. I am confident that in her new role Susan will contribute to ensure we continue to drive results and push forward in our goals as outlined in Ambition 2015.”

Mason’s key responsibilities will include overseeing operating performance and brand consistency for more than 100 franchised hotels. She is a key player in executing Ambition 2015, Carlson Rezidor’s strategy to reposition and elevate the Radisson brand in the Americas by upgrading the existing portfolio through major renovations and driving revenue and market share.

Mason began her career with Carlson as an executive housekeeper in 1985, and was promoted through the ranks, serving in almost every area of hotel operations, including manager of guest services, executive assistant manager and general manager. Her operations roles have included Radisson properties in North America and Europe. In 2006, she was promoted to regional director of brand business for Radisson. Three years later, she was named senior regional director, Radisson, her most recent position.

Mason is a trained facilitator and a certified hotel administrator (CHA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Wisconsin – Stout.
