Meliá Hotels International today announced the new MeliáRewards loyalty programme which aims to enhance customer confidence and satisfaction. The programme was previously known as mas Rewards, and has become a key source of company revenue, with the 3 million members generating up to 50% of the sales at melia.com.

The new programme aims to boost international recognition by using the company's Meliá corporate brand name, and is also accompanied by a new “Welcome back” slogan, inviting customers to return and enjoy the experiences and sensations of a stay in the hotels operated by Meliá Hotels International.

Programme members will continue to enjoy all the unique programme benefits in all of the Company’s brands and hotels. The relaunch of Meliá Rewards also includes new status levels for members (MeliáRewards, MeliáRewards Silver, MeliáRewards Gold and MeliáRewards Platinum), each with their particular package of benefits.

MeliáRewards members also have a number of advantages in melia.com, including: exclusive member prices, the chance to redeem points for free hotel nights or use points plus cash from just 2,000 points.
Through partnerships with more than 40 Spanish and international partners (including Air Berlin, Air France, Lufthansa, American Airlines or Arvato Services), members can transfer and redeem points for free flights, leading brand products from a gift catalogue, car rentals, etc.

In 2011, the company launched the "American Express mas" credit card through a partnership with American Express, allowing members to earn points faster through their purchases in supermarkets, gas stations, and so on. With the relaunch of the programme, the card will now be called "American Express MeliáRewards".
