Carlson, a global hospitality and travel company today announced the appointment of Cindy Rodahl as executive vice president, Human Resources and Communications.
Rodahl has served as interim head since October, 2012. Prior to that, she was the interim human resources leader for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Americas, from March – October, 2012. From 1991 to 2004, Rodahl served as a divisional vice president of Human Resources at Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Carlson Marketing Group.
“Within Carlson’s businesses and operating groups, Cindy has improved the effectiveness of the human resources functions and played a critical role in redesigning and restructuring these organizations to better accomplish the goals and needs of each business. She has deep expertise in all aspects of human resources; broad business experience; specific knowledge of our businesses and the industries in which we compete. This experience set is critically important to moving Carlson forward with our goals and objectives for Ambition 2015 and beyond as we develop Vision 20/20,” said Trudy Rautio, president and chief executive officer of Carlson.
Rodahl brings important perspective and best practices to the company. In addition to her roles at Carlson, in 2009, Rodahl was a founding partner of Tevera Consulting, serving as an advisor to a number of public and private companies on a variety of strategic human resources and board governance projects.
From March 2005 – November 2007, Rodahl was chief family resource officer for BUCA, Inc., where she was instrumental in working with company leaders to improve business performance. She also served as vice president of Human Resources and Safety for Transport Corporation of America, Inc., a publicly traded company, and 18 years with the Pillsbury Company, including positions as director of Human Resources for its international businesses and vice president of Human Resources for its $2.4 billion consumer products business.
Rodahl holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
