Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, Università Telematica Pegaso and South Italy SRL are delighted to announce the signature of a partnership agreement for the delivery of on-line hospitality courses. This agreement was signed at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, in the presence of Prof. Michel Rochat, General Director of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Mr Yateendra Sinh, CEO of Lausanne Hospitality Consulting SA, Mr Danilo Iervolino, President of the Univesità Telematica Pegaso and Mr Vincenzo Lombardi, President of South Italy SRL.
"On-line courses for the hospitality industry"
Lausanne Hospitality Consulting SA will provide the knowledge developed by Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne via interactive videos in English. Università Telematica Pegaso will provide their unique on-line courses platform and support the concept, as well as follow-up and coaching with each student.
These on-line executive education courses will target young graduates motivated to experience the exciting hospitality sector as well as career climbers who would like to move up professionally to the next level and career switchers interested in entering the hospitality industry.
Two six-month undergraduate courses will be proposed, covering two educational levels:
Level 1: the fundamentals of the hospitality industry
Level 2: advanced operations and introduction to hospitality management
The level 1 course will be composed of 10 modules of 15 hours each, covering two main areas: Food & Beverage and Rooms Division. Topics will range from an introduction to Food & Beverage, the basics of bar keeping, introduction to kitchen and service operations, to basics of housekeeping, fundamentals of concierge keeping and front office operations.
Level 2 course will be composed of 10 modules of 15 hours each, covering three main areas: Food & Beverage, Rooms Division and Back Office. Topics deepen the knowledge acquired in level 1, in the same areas, as well as kitchen and service management, housekeeping and laundry management, front office management, and room division management. Students also undertake an introduction to marketing and human resources management.
Right balance between theory and practice
The Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne has always insisted on transferring not only knowledge but also skills and attitude, through its unique concept of balancing the arts and the sciences of hospitality management. This approach will also be replicated in this joint programme.
Students will have the possibility to complement their two six-month courses with a six-month internship in various hotels in Italy or elsewhere. They will also have the possibility to practice intensively at the College Unipegaso/South Italy. The internship and practical opportunities will allow them to confront their learning with the day to day reality. It will also allow them to qualify for a 3-day intensive module at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, culminating with an examination.
Students who pass the examination will have the possibility to apply to the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne’s Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management, with the possibility of being exempted from the first year of studies on a case by case basis.
