Dirk Schavemaker Joins Revel as Senior Vice President, Resort Operations (United States)

Revel Chief Executive Officer Kevin DeSanctis announced today that Dirk Schavemaker has joined the resort’s management team as senior vice president, Resort Operations.
Mr. Schavemaker brings to Revel more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. In his new role he will be responsible for all aspects of resort operations including hotel, food and beverage, facilities, hotel and convention sales and partner operations.

Most recently, he served as executive vice president and chief resort experience officer for Marriott Vacations Worldwide in Orlando, Florida. In that position, Mr. Schavemaker was responsible for general management of all resorts within the Marriott Vacation Club portfolio including 55 Marriott Vacation Club timeshare resorts, three Grande Residence Club by Marriott fractional resorts, and oversight responsibility for 11 Ritz-Carlton Club fractional resorts and strategic goal-setting.
After graduating from The Hotel School at The Hague, Mr. Schavemaker joined the Munich Marriott Hotel where he began his hospitality career as Director of Operations. He then went on to Bremen (Germany) Marriott; Marriott International Corporation in Bethesda, MD; and Marriott Vacation Club International for Europe and Asia based in London, England and Cork, Ireland.
Revel is a new destination for uncommon recreation. The beachfront resort is smoke-free and features more than 1,800 rooms with sweeping ocean views. The resort houses a 130,000-square-foot casino with more than 2,000 slot machines, nearly 100 table games, electronic tables and a Poker Room. Designed to embrace its natural surroundings, Revel curates a collection of daylife and nightlife experiences crafted to bring the outside in and the inside out. Revel recently was named “Best Casino Hotel 2012” in Philadelphia magazine’s “Best of Philly” awards.
