Twelfth consecutive win for Holiday Inn as it scoops Best Mid-Market Hotel brand while InterContinental is named Best Business Hotel Brand for the third year running
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) brands continue their award-winning streak, adding five prestigious reader-voted awards to the hotel company’s collection. For the twelfth year running Business Traveller Asia-Pacific voted Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts as the World’s Best Mid-Market Hotel Brand; and for the third consecutive year InterContinental Hotels & Resorts was named Best Business Hotel Brand in the World.
The Business Traveller Asia-Pacific 2012 Readers’ Poll also saw InterContinental Hotels & Resorts scoop Best Business Hotel Brand in Europe and InterContinental Sydney was named Best Business Hotel in the city. Meanwhile, Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund was voted Best Boutique Hotel in Asia-Pacific.
Simon Scoot, IHG’s Vice President, Brands – InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and IHG Global Resorts collected the award and commented: “Being named favourite mid-market hotel brand for twelve years running is a great birthday present for the Holiday Inn brand, which is also celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year. And we’re delighted that once again InterContinental has won Best Business Hotel Brand. This is the sort of customer feedback we never get tired of hearing!”
“These awards speak volumes about the strength of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn, and how our brands continually evolve to stay relevant to, and a firm favourite of, today’s business traveller. More importantly it’s a big pat on the back for our teams who deliver our brand promise day in and day out across our hotels around the globe.”
The recent awards outside Asia-Pacific continue a winning streak for IHG in 2012. Awards won this year include:
· Best Hotel Brand in the Middle East for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts at the 2012 Business Traveller Middle East Awards
