A five year, full renovation of the Boston Marriott Copley Place has been completed, it was announced today. From guest rooms, to meeting space, lobbies and restaurants, to health club and pool areas, this landmark hotel has been entirely re-imagined and re-designed.

All 1,100 spacious guest rooms and 47 luxurious suites have been transformed into calming retreats with Marriott Hotels & Resorts Refreshing Mint interior design, inspired by nature. The crisp décor palette combines splashes of mint green with rich chocolate brown hues. New lighting, artwork, desk chair, wall coverings, window treatments, and bath amenities combined with technical necessities, such as wired and wireless internet connection, 37” HDTVs, laptop safes and mini-refrigerators, create a stylish and thoughtful guest room. The hotel’s Concierge Lounge has also been significantly expanded and updated to provide the utmost comfort, convenience and high level of service.

Seventy thousand square feet of flexible meeting space has been renovated during the course of this project. The 23,431-square-foot Grand Ballroom dazzles with mahogany millwork, tone-on-tone wall coverings, bronze light fixtures and jewel-hued carpets. Three custom-designed chandeliers are adorned with 29,000 crystal pendants creating dramatic focal points. Digital lighting systems and an easily accessible grid allow for outstanding theater-style and décor lighting capabilities. Likewise, digital sound systems and improved acoustics, as well as superior wireless and wired capabilities and fiber optic cabling, make the Grand Ballroom very attractive to event technicians.

The reconfigured 22,500-square-foot Back Bay Conference and Exhibit Hall is available in its entirety for trade shows, and can now be sub-divided into seven mid-sized meeting rooms, measuring 900 to 2,000 square feet. Also of note, three brand new mid-sized meeting rooms have been added to the first floor, and all pre-existing small and mid-sized meeting rooms have been renovated. These spaces feature contemporary décor, state-of-the-art sound systems, and wired and wireless internet access.

The hotel’s abundant public areas, including lobbies, restaurants and lounges, have likewise been thoroughly transformed. On the first floor, the front desk area is now just inside the hotel doors, off Huntington Avenue. This highly visible placement, along with a curvilinear design, invites guests to glide easily through the check-in process. Meanwhile, an adjacent elliptical seating area provides a welcome place to meet colleagues, check messages, or read the paper.

On the hotel’s second level, a new Champions restaurant is the centerpiece, with its 12 x 24 foot HD screen, over 40 flat panel televisions, and a technologically-advanced sound system. The restaurant’s open, circular design, along with its all-American grill menu, 36 beers on tap, and hand-crafted cocktails, makes Champions a popular dining and entertainment spot for locals and hotel guests alike. The second floor also features an expanded Starbucks coffee bar, a new Connexion Lounge, a relocated business center, and a refreshed and redesigned Atrium Shop.

For those who like to stay fit while on the road, the new health club area is of special interest. The fitness center now offers the latest cardiovascular and weight training equipment, and the renovated pool and whirlpool provide breathtaking city views. Massage is available by appointment, in renovated treatment rooms.

Named to Cvent’s 2012 list of “Top 100 Meeting Hotels in the United States,” the Boston Marriott Copley Place is located at 110 Huntington Avenue, in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay. World-class shopping is steps away, via enclosed skyways to the upscale Copley Place Mall and the Shops at the Prudential Center. The hotel is convenient to downtown businesses and tourist attractions, and minutes from Logan International Airport, the Back Bay Amtrak Station and numerous MBTA public transportation stations.
