Industry Veteran From Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Will Join Resort June 11

Hilton Worldwide announced today that Tracy Walker has been named general manager of its flagship resort in Hawaii, Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. She will be taking the helm of the company’s largest hotel which encompasses 22 beachfront acres and 2,860 guest rooms.

Walker is a 24-year industry veteran and has been affiliated with Hilton Worldwide since 2002, most recently serving as general manager of the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Before that, she served as general manager for Hilton Newark Airport and previously worked for the Fontainebleau on Miami Beach and Hilton Chicago. Prior to joining Hilton, Walker was employed by Wyndham Hotels Corporation as general manager for The Mayfair in St. Louis and hotel manager for the Wyndham Salt Lake City.

“I am thrilled to welcome Tracy to our team in Hawaii," said Jerry Gibson, area vice president and managing director, Hilton Worldwide. “Tracy is highly-respected in the industry and we look forward to her tremendous enthusiasm and leadership.”

Under Walker’s watch, the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek secured numerous accolades both internally and externally. The hotel “swept” Hilton Worldwide’s 2012 performance awards, which included the receipt of The Connie Award, given to “the best of the best” hotels within each brand in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio.

Walker began her career with Hilton at the Burbank Airport Hilton and Convention Center. It was at this hotel that she was named Employee of the Year and her prize was a trip to Hawaii with a stay at Hilton Hawaiian Village. With her new post, Walker has returned to the hotel that she enjoyed decades ago as a rising star.

Walker is a graduate of the University of Utah and will be joined in Hawaii by her husband, Scot. She competes in triathlons several times a year and is looking forward to all of the outdoor activities that Hawaii has to offer.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is Waikiki’s only true destination resort, offering the perfect mix of exceptional resort accommodations and classic hospitality on Waikiki’s widest stretch of beach. The resort features more than 90 shops and 16 restaurants, lounges and bars; and every Friday evening, it sets the stage for a celebration of Hawaiian culture and entertainment ending in a spectacular fireworks show.
