Come September, a new landmark will rise out of two of Sydney’s most iconic buildings – the historic Gowings department store and heritage-listed State Theatre. Set in the heart of Sydney’s central business district, QT Sydney’s surrounding area is brimming with culture, art, fashion, cuisine and design, while still being within easy reach of sandy beaches. The interior design concept is bold and playful, and important historic elements like original timber floors, retail showcases, gargoyles and facade details have been carefully restored.
The 200 guest rooms come in 12 different styles – most equipped with a signature oversized bathtub and shower and unique design pieces that reference the buildings’ past. The restaurant, The Gowings Bar and Grill continues the quirky vibe of the hotel both with its decor and food. For a quick coffee or casual bite, there’s Parlour Lane Roasters. A new designer spa concept, spaQ will feature an array of facials and body treatments by USpa and Kerstin Florian, and even a creative range of 30-minute add-on treatments.
