Gourmet restaurant All’Acquacotta included in Michelin Guide Italia 2012
Gourmet restaurant All’Acquacotta, located at Tuscany’s award-winning Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort, has achieved the ultimate culinary accolade with the news of its inclusion in the new Michelin Restaurant Guide Italia 2012. In a ceremony on 16 November 2011, Chef Alessandro Bocci and Chef Michele Rinaldi were presented with their first Michelin Star, marking their official entrée into the world of the culinary elite. The achievement marks the culmination of a two year initiative to redefine the culinary philosophy of All’Acquacotta and establish Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort as a Mecca not just for spa goers and golf lovers, but also for epicures – reflecting a characteristically Italian approach to wellbeing, more about stimulating the senses than privation.
Following a renaissance spearheaded by world-renowned chef Chicco Cerea and his family, operators of the famous three Michelin starred Da Vittorio Restaurant, All’Acquacotta is true to its Tuscan roots, focusing on traditional cuisine and gracious, attentive service. The menu includes modern reinterpretations of classic Italian dishes such as Risotto with Lemon, Capers and Carpaccio of Red Argentario Prawns; Duck Foie Gras with Green Apple and Rhubarb Compote; and Cream of Chieti Figs with Vanilla Ice Cream and Mascarpone Square.
All’Acquacotta offers an intimate, classically Tuscan setting, centred around an elegant courtyard garden. A member of Leading Hotels of the World and the exclusive Virtuoso, Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort offers 140 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art spa with 54 treatment rooms, and an 18-hole organic Championship golf course. At the heart of the resort, an ancient spring produces a constant flow of unique, mineral rich thermal waters whose legendary healing properties form the basis of treatments and therapies at the spa - named the Best Medical, Thermal of Natural Spa in the world in the Condé Nast Traveller UK Reader's Travel Awards 2011.
Accommodation at Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort starts from €280 per person per night, including breakfast, and use of the thermal pool; hydromassage waterfalls; al fresco Jacuzzi; Roman bath with sauna and steam room; golf driving range; floodlit tennis courts; fitness centre; mountain bikes; and participation in guided morning hikes.
About Terme Di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort
Located in Maremma, one of the most striking corners of Tuscany, the award-winning Terme di Saturnia Resort & Spa is centred around an ancient travertine stone building on the site of a rich, ancient thermal spring. Generations of bathers have enjoyed the health-giving properties of the waters, which gush from the spring at a rate of 500 litres per second at a constant temperature of 37° C. Impressive Roman baths lead from the elegant hotel to the warm spring, which feeds four swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, waterfalls, and waterways. The healing powers of the sulphuric spring water are used in luxurious, regenerative therapies and a range of tailored medical and fitness programmes and following recent extensive renovations, the spa offers state-of-the-art facilities in its 53 treatments rooms. An overriding philosophy of seeking harmony with the environment is reflected in the design of the 140 guest rooms and in the resort’s ‘green’ 18-hole golf course, designed to fit seamlessly with its glorious natural surroundings. The Aqualuce restaurant offers fine Mediterranean dining, whilst Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant All’Acquacotta serves Tuscan-inspired cuisine in an intimate courtyard setting.
