CADDIE® LOTUS VALET : The housekeeping trolley of tomorrow (France)

Category: Europe - France
This is a press release selected by our editorial committee and published online for free on 2011-10-28

A key player in the hotel equipment sector, Caddie® is launching a new generation of housekeeping trolleys that combine efficiency with comfort, and are a pleasure to use: the Caddie® Lotus Valet range. From a simple working tool, the trolley becomes a functional and stylish piece of furniture that blends in perfectly with the internal decor of every hotel. The aim: to reduce the difficulties associated with housekeeping work and improve productivity in the hotel.

Optimal efficiency
Devised and designed to make the work of chambermaids easier, the Caddie® Lotus Valet range is characterised by an optimal useful surface area and broad scope of adaptability. From 290 to 520 dm3, depending on the model, the capacity has increased almost 40% compared with other trolleys on the market, allowing it to handle a full day’s work, with no more toing and froing between the rooms and the office. This considerable time-saving is reinforced by the possibility of organizing the main volume receiving the clean linen thanks to modular and easily removable shelves without tools for an almost custom-made solution.

Major breakthroughs: detachable satellites, fully independent trolley extensions allowing direct entry into the room without having to move the central unit. Equipped with a laundry bag or standard cord bag, the satellites make light work of collecting laundry from the foot of the bed. They can also be fitted with a plastic bag for collecting rubbish (single or with sorting system). A major innovation that is sure to revolutionise the way housekeeping work is organised.

Practical comfort
Caddie® is revolutionising the housekeeping trolley market by integrating a “Comfort” dimension, a factor largely ignored in what is a very physical job that can cause serious musculoskeletal problems. The very structure of the Caddie® Lotus Valet takes the physical strain that chambermaids experience into consideration, so it is as comfortable as possible to use. The handles are located at the average shoulder height of 25 to 45 year-old women1, so that users of any stature can grasp the trolley comfortably and push it effortlessly. The 4 swivel casters with ball-bearing hub and the 5th central caster provide the whole unit with additional manoeuvrability. Together with the light structure (-12% at equivalent capacity2), they help reduce the effort involved in starting and pushing the trolley. Finally, Caddie® provides a particularly innovative linen bag to save chambermaids from bending down to empty the used linen and transfer it into rolls for the laundry. A side gusset that opens from top to bottom allows the linen to be removed without straining the back.

Pleasure: a new dimension
Unlike the traditional design of housekeeping trolleys, the Caddie® Lotus Valet embraces a new, fluid and round-edged design, inspired and embodied by the lotus flower featured on the trolley. Eco-designed using top-quality materials, each trolley can be customised with a colour palette of finishes and bags to match the interior decor of any hotel, regardless of its positioning. This design dimension is accompanied by a sensory dimension in the form of a “foam skin” structure that is soft and smooth to touch and pleasant to grasp, as well as excellent peripheral protection thanks to the integrated bumpers that prevent damage to hotel walls, doors and corridors.

The available options include a label so the trolley is easier to identify and can be personalised so that each chambermaid can own and be responsible for her own equipment. This is one way in which Caddie® highlights the importance of the chambermaid’s job, a role that is inextricably linked to end-customer’s satisfaction.

Since last June, the Caddie® Lotus Valet range also comes with a series of new accessories to satisfy the needs of every hotel segment: rack trays, roller shutter, cover, drawer, cleaning satellite, service bar, cartless or start assistance, etc.
