Hotel offers five restaurants and catered events for up to 2000 guests.
Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta welcomes the new leader of its culinary team, Executive Chef Sumanth Das, boosting its well-established reputation as one of the most exciting dining destinations in Jakarta.
“We’re delighted to welcome Chef Das to our family here in Jakarta,” says Vikram Reddy, general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. “His experience along with his passion for creating culinary experiences are sure to delight the palates of our guests.”
Das joined Four Seasons in 2004 as Restaurant Chef at Aramara in Punta Mita, Mexico and was then appointed to Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa and later to Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. Bringing more than ten years of experience, Das is the obvious choice to head the kitchen at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta.
He brings the calm, embracing approach that has been at the forefront of his success to Jakarta, where his current role encompasses the culinary responsibilities for five restaurants, in-room dining for 320 guest rooms and banquet facilities that cater up to 2000 people at a time. Das leads the whole kitchen operation, including staff development, and creates the menus for dining outlets. For Das, working together as a team is more important than just a one man show. “It’s a lot more fun when everyone is involved,” he explains.
Dining options at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta include The Steak House, which offers a variety of prime and wagyu beef presentations, all prepared on its signature wood burning grill; Lai Ching, a contemporary dining scene with garden views and an authentic ambiance serving a wide variety of Chinese cuisine and its popular dim sum menu; and Seasons Café, serving western, Indonesian, Asian and homestyle choices around-the-clock.
