Starwood Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce that Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa will open to guests on September 30, 2011. Located on an idyllic stretch of exclusive Lamai Beach, Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa is a chic and intimate boutique resort that provides guests with a unique blend of stylish amenities, luxury services, an inspiring atmosphere and rich, cultural experiences, offering guests an enchanting stay with a new perspective.

To celebrate the grand opening, Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa is inviting brides and grooms to take advantage of the “Thai Me Down” wedding package: 3M Baht to buy the resort for 3 days. The unique offer guarantees the wedding party their own private resort on Lamai Beach, one of Koh Samui’s most tranquil and beautiful shorelines for a romantic weekend filled with unique, memorable experiences. As part of the package, wedding parties will enjoy full, exclusive access to the resort’s villas, restaurants, lounges and spa for three days and nights, including special experiences custom-designed for the guests.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Le Meridien brand to Koh Samui, and to offer this one-of-a-kind wedding package,” said Wayne Buckingham, Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ regional vice president of Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. “Our offering is unique to the island – a boutique hotel with a focus on contemporary art, a multi-cultural ambience and outstanding cuisine. It’s the perfect retreat for a fabulous wedding weekend, and we can’t wait to welcome couples and help them launch to a lifetime of memories with an incredibly romantic weekend.”

Perfectly situated along the exclusive Lamai Beach, Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa is an idyllic enclave on the east coast of the island – away from the busy Chaweng area of the island, but with close proximity to the airport and island attractions. The resort is designed with Feng Shui principles in mind to be a place that preserves beauty, celebrates history and culture, enhances prosperity, and creates physical and spiritual happiness. This elemental principle is woven throughout the resort’s buildings, amenities and offerings.

Drawing from Koh Samui’s timeless beauty and diverse cultural influences, Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa features an intimate selection of 77 stylish suites and villas designed in the image of a traditional Asian seaside village. The resort features three distinct epicurean experiences from poolside casual to elegant that will appeal to any palate. For guests seeking retreat, Le Meridien Koh Samui offers a world-class luxury spa with private suites and a holistic mix of ancient and modern treatments. And a main focal point of the resort is the 224-meter floating dock that leads to a unique ocean pool.

Inspired Design
Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa’s architecture is chic and contemporary, inspired by the multiple cultural influences and natural materials of the region. The main entrance is an extraordinary octagonal porte cochere resembling the Chinese Yin and Yang, encouraging guests to leave all stress and worries behind as they enter the island paradise. The exteriors of the buildings feature a contemporary blend of Chinese-Thai architecture, while the interiors feature décor and artwork incorporating a soothing blend of Thai, Chinese, Burmese and Indian elements. The lush landscaping is distinctly Balinese, seamlessly blending the surrounding verdant jungle foliage with the serene beachfront location.

Stylish Accommodations
Le Meridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa offers 63 chic and spacious guest suites and 14 stand-alone villas, each exquisitely appointed with the most modern in-room facilities. The stylish accommodations feature high ceilings, expansive windows and open-air bathrooms that enhance the outdoor tropical experience and provide stunning views of the island and surrounding pristine waters. Guest rooms include luxury bath accessories and the most modern of in-room conveniences like Wifi, LCD and iPod docking systems. Guests can choose from six different types of accommodations including Verandah, Terrace, Plunge Pool and Pool Access suites, as well as Ocean Front Pool and Pavilion Pool villas – some with their own private plunge pools, infinity pools and dining pavilions.

Culinary Destinations
Created to fulfill and inspire, Le Meridien Koh Samui offers three dining experiences that will appeal to any discerning palate. Latest Recipe is Le Meridien’s signature all-day dining venue, situated over the oceanfront pool with unlimited views and an international menu that brings together East and West. Or, settle into island fare and refreshing beverages at Plunge Bar, a stylish poolside oasis. Latitude 9 offers fresh coffee and chilled drinks overlooking the soothing water feature in the resort’s lobby.
