New Dolce Regional Director Leads Sales and Marketing in the West (United States)

Dolce Hotels and Resorts, operator of 27 upscale hotels, resorts and conference hotels in North America and Europe, has named Michael Smith as regional director of sales and marketing to support the company’s properties in California and Nevada.
Based in Chicago, he serves as strategic business leader for the sales and marketing departments of Ravella at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nev.; Silverado, a Dolce Resort, in Napa, Calif.; and Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose, Calif. He is responsible for collaborating with each hotel’s director of sales and marketing to achieve rooms, catering and spa revenue goals by providing strategic and tactical project management support.
Smith formerly served Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide for 13 years in a variety of multiple hotel-portfolio sales and marketing roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently he was Starwood vice president, sales and marketing, for new build, transitions and franchise sales operations for its North American hotels.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Budget Rent A Car Corp. as director of field marketing and director of central region marketing, based in Lisle, Ill. Prior to that, he was regional director of sales and marketing for Richfield Hospitality Management, Denver, and spent eight years with Omni Hotels & Resorts in various sales and marketing roles in Minneapolis, St. Louis, Charleston, S.C., and at its former headquarters in Hampton, N.H.
Smith earned his bachelor of business administration degree in marketing at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He resides in Green Oaks, Ill.
