Lodge Announces New Wellness Studio Addition

Never one to rest on its laurels, Stein Eriksen Lodge announced today another addition to its top-ranked The Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge—a 3,000 square-foot wellness studio opening for the 2011/2012 ski season. The Spa was recently named the #1 Resort Spa in the continental United States by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.

"The wellness studio will be a valued component The Spa's total body health offering," said Russ Olsen, CEO of Stein Eriksen Lodge. "Whether guests are simply looking to unwind after a day of outdoor activities or seeking deep therapy to combat the high altitude and dry climate in Park City, The Spa delivers heightened relaxation, rejuvenation and overall enhanced wellness and will now do so on a much grander scale."

Continuing the Norwegian tradition of the hotel and spa, the wellness studio will be called Verdandi, after a Nors Goddess. Verdandi is the Goddess of Necessity, also meaning "to become," and the wellness studio will reflect the necessity of daily exercise to maintain well-being.

The Verdandi wellness studio will be open year-round and will feature seasonal programs, such as pre-ski stretching in the winter, a mid-morning class that will alternate strength training, yoga, cardio and Pilates, and an apres ski stretch. All wellness programs will be 60 minutes in duration.

Guests will experience this commitment to holistic wellness in every aspect of the Forbes Four Star Spa. The architecture and design are inspired by the surrounding mountains with the purposeful use of copper, water, stone and rich fabrics to create a harmonious environment. Each of the 16 treatment room is aglow from the hand-crafted naturally detoxifying salt lamps. A full line of locally crafted products featuring indigenous ingredients such as cedar, sage, and salt are used to invigorate the mind and body. Signature treatments, such as The Great Salt Stone Therapy, Pigment Balancing Facial, and Hiker Boot Relief treatment are unique to the mountain spa and are the creation of Spa Director, Jill VanAusdal . In addition to customized treatments, every guest may also enjoy expanded fitness facilities and a year-round heated pool with breathtaking mountain views.
