The recently opened JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis has been selected by Luxury Travel Magazine as one of the world's best new hotels of 2011. This prestigious list includes luxury hotels from many international locations including China, Italy, Peru, India and Japan.
"We are honored to be included in such a prestigious list of new hotels from around the world," said Scott Blalock, General Manager of the JW Marriott Indianapolis. "The guest response to our hotel has been incredible and to see this recognized in Luxury Travel Magazine makes our team very proud."
The criteria in making Luxury Travel Magazine's list included setting and location, proximity to local attractions and events, leisure facilities, architecture, interior design, atmosphere, views, service and staff, room and bathroom amenities, restaurants and bars, and overall guest experience.
The largest JW Marriott in the world and boasting the largest ballroom in the state, the Indianapolis hotel has 34 stories, 1,005 rooms including 25 suites and three concierge levels. "Not only has our hotel changed the downtown skyline, it's also made a big impact on the city's thriving convention business," said Dave Sibley, President and CEO of White Lodging's Hotel Management Services. "Our Italian restaurant, Osteria Pronto, and our 4500 square foot fitness center are among the favorite amenities of our leisure guests."
Adjacent to the city's recently expanded convention center and steps from White River State Park, the Indianapolis Zoo and Gardens and many popular attractions, the hotel is also in the heart of world-class shopping and dining and close to the State Capitol, Lucas Oil Stadium and Conseco Fieldhouse.
