Hilton Worldwide’s portfolio of hotels – Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Hotels, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton brands – are outfitting more than 1,000 hotel fitness centers around the world with new tech-savvy, customizable equipment options.

“Our research shows that guests care about having access to a range of first-rate fitness amenities during their stays,” said Jodi Sullivan, senior director of global fitness, Hilton Worldwide. “We’ve taken this feedback to our partners and, together, have developed updated options that we hope will exceed guest expectations and fitness center experiences around the world.”

Hilton Worldwide-branded hotels will feature the latest from equipment giants – Precor, Life Fitness, StarTrac and TechnoGym – including touch screen consoles, iPod compatibility, ePub readers, pre-loaded sample exercises, Internet connectivity, integrated television and personal TV screens with nearly 40 channels to choose from.

For the past nine months, Hilton Worldwide has been testing state-of-the-art equipment in addition to a variety of design options, activity snacks and amenities, in its McLean, Va. headquarters. Hotel owners and employees were encouraged to explore the fitness concept room, sample the new equipment and give their feedback. Combined results led to new solutions that will be featured throughout Hilton Worldwide’s portfolio, varying by brand and location.

The phased roll out will begin next year with approximately 300 full-service hotel fitness centers and continue through year-end 2012. Hilton Worldwide has more 3,750 properties globally across 10 brands.
