The Pillars Hotel in Fort Lauderdale wins TripAdvisor "Award of Certificate of Excellence" and maintains #1 ranking among star rated hotels in Fort Lauderdale.
The Pillars Hotel is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a "2011 Certificate of Excellence" award from TripAdvisor. This prestigious certificate is awarded to member properties of TripAdvisor who consistently receive excellence ratings from travelers around the world. To qualify, the property is expected to maintain an average rating of 4 or higher out of the possible 5, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews and how recent these reviews are submitted by TripAdvisor travelers.
In addition, The Pillars continues to be the top star rated Fort Lauderdale hotel in the TripAdvisor Popularity Index rankings. TripAdvisor is the world's largest travel site featuring reviews and advice on hotels. The TripAdvisor Popularity Index incorporates traveler ratings to determine traveler satisfaction with the emphasis placed on the most recent information.
"Reviews by guests of the hotel carry a great deal of weight. To win an award judged by patrons of the hotel is a major feather in our cap," says proprietor Michael Landry. "We strive to provide our guests the best personal experience possible and this award recognizes this. The Pillars does not intend to be complacent with these results and is always looking for ways to make a stay at the hotel an even better experience," says Landry. "There is nothing like positive feedback to rouse the best in our staff. Needless to say, I am very proud of our manager, Caroline Bonnell, and her team. In a hotel such as The Pillars it is the people that make the difference."
The 2010 renovation program has also been a significant contributor to the hotel's success. In response to a need for increased common space architect Ron Trebbi and designer Zeke Fernandez restored the original living room and dining room by creating a contemporary interior queued by the original art deco detailing of prominent 1930s architect Whal Snyder.
"During the planning stages I often felt like Trebbi and Fernandez had just experienced a seance with Snyder himself, says Landry. "It was clear they were determined that the new interior would complement his original building".
Landry also attributes The Pillars Hotel's TripAdvisor "Certificate of Excellence" award and top ranking to the addition of Chef Youssef Hammi. "Since joining The Pillars in early 2010 Hammi has totally revamped the Pillars dining experience. Without a doubt he is fast becoming one of the most popular chefs in the Fort Lauderdale area," says Landry. "So much so that the availability of our private dining club memberships is close to maxing out."
