Santa Barbara, CA – Canary Hotel, Santa Barbara's only full service luxury boutique hotel has been selected as the first property to roll out SocialStay, a simple and cutting edge mobile application created for discerning tastemakers in the hospitality industry. SocialStay is aimed at connecting with guests using a savvy social media platform to provide superior service, a fun and intuitive way to make the most of a guest's visit, and knowing what they want before they know they want it… almost.

As the social media space continues to boom, travel is becoming more and more social. Enter SocialStay who is strategically partnering with luxury hospitality brands across the nation to roll out their top-of-the-line platform, built from the ground up uniquely for each client, to connect people, provide access with ease, and improve guest experiences across the board. An early-adopter of social media properties like Facebook and twitter, Canary Hotel understands the value in partnering with a technology solution like SocialStay as an efficient way to stay connected to their guests before, during and after their stay.

"For guests, it's like having the hotel in their pocket everywhere they go," said Laura McIver, General Manager, Canary Hotel. "Guests can access information, order services, and communicate with other guests and the hotel, but in a more convenient and fun way. For Canary Hotel, SocialStay becomes a valuable communication and marketing channel that drives increased revenue and much more."

"SocialStay has figured out how the physical and social world collide, making the hotel's sellable inventory more appealing and accessible to the guest and turning the "buying" aspect of it into a social experience," said Seth Epstein, Founder of SocialStay. "We're excited to be delivering this valuable access to the consumer in an extremely easy way. Our app aggregates all the information and improves the guests' stay at hotel, improves the hotel's ability to serve the guests and creates a closer relationship – it feels very VIP."

Some of SocialStay's features and functions to note:

"Who's Here" is an opt-in feature, so if a guest chooses, they can see who else is "checked in", and who they might know or want to know. Think of it like a living, breathing, real time guest book where like-minded, socially-oriented people can see "who's here". Who's Here is a great tool for urban hotels, conferences and even resorts. For example you might want to find out if someone else wants to play tennis.

"WANTS" is like the EASY button for guests. WANTS stands for Wishes, Amibitions, Needs, Treats & Services. Whatever their wants, wishes, ambitions, needs are, Wants can help them find. When a guest wants quick access, or a one-touch dial to the concierge, bell desk, valet or room service (among other things) – one click on Wants takes them directly to the services they want immediately.

"Concierge" is a function that features a curated list of events that are going on in-and-around the hotel. Ever arrive in a new town and have a few hours on your hands? SocialStay's Concierge fetuare will suggest activities and indicate if any other hotel guests are attending. The Concierge function is the guest's way to live and feel like a local.
