Roux on Orleans Reinvents Easter Sunday Dining with a Creole-style Jazz and Champagne Brunch
The Bourbon Orleans Hotel's signature restaurant, Roux on Orleans, has announced a new Jazz and Champagne Brunch taking place on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. Roux on Orleans restaurant was recently launched at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the very heart of the historic French Quarter. General Manager Mark Wilson and Executive Chef Guy Sockrider have created an imaginative Easter Sunday Brunch, giving this traditional brunch a Creole-style twist.
Chef Sockrider, a member of the Chaine de Rotisseurs, has prepared a delectable array of Creole favorites. Special dishes include his famous Lump Crabmeat Louisiana Crab Cakes and his signature Louisiana Shrimp and Goat Cheese Crepes. A second course includes a choice of salad or soup, with the special Salad Midi and the Opelousas Seafood Gumbo as two prime choices. To tempt the palate, entree selections include the Chicken Tchoupitoulas, a delicious plump free-range breast served with a peppercorn chardonnay sauce. The tasty Pecan Crusted Puppy Drum is also a favorite, served with a crabmeat relish and lemon butter sauce and enough to satisfy either gourmet or gourmand.
As lagniappe, a southern Louisiana tradition of giving a small gift to a customer, the champagne will flow a volunte with complimentary champagne or mimosas pouring by request throughout the meal.
Music accompaniment to the delightful choices on the menu will be from Absolute Brew, a trio of jazz artists including Zen Crook on Piano, Jay Griggs on Bass, and Steve Allen on Saxophone and Vocals. These local artists have been performing for many years in venues throughout New Orleans.
The Jazz and Champagne Brunch will be served between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24th for $59.00 per person, plus tax and gratuity. A special menu is available for children ages 12 and under with an adult at a brunch price of just $22.50 per child. Brunch will be served in the comfortable surroundings of the Roux on Orleans restaurant, located just behind St. Louis Cathedral, making an excursion to the historic district a delightful way to spend Easter Sunday. Valet parking is available with validation at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, 717 Orleans Street, while dining. Reservations are recommended by calling (504) 571-4604.
