Mr Luca Allegri is the new Director of Hotel Operations with Groupe Monte-Carlo SBM. Starting at the end of March 2011, he will supervise operations for the four hotels, spas and 36 bars and restaurants in the Monte-Carlo SBM resort, as well as overseeing the group’s development abroad.
The day after his appointment, Luca Allegri outlined the main points of the policies he plans to carry out in his new role. Staff training will be a fundamental goal so that the Monte-Carlo SBM label has real ambassadors for its philosophy and its know-how, not only in Monaco but, also, throughout the world. Another objective is to increase profitability through improved process efficiency whilst maintaining the quality of service. Reaching the limits of excellence must remain a vocation. He adds: “It is thanks to its clients that the Monte-Carlo SBM resort has attained its legendary status. We must, at all times, cherish the close relationship we have with our clients by surprising them with a welcome and services which are more and more personalised.”
General Manager of the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco since October 2007, Luca Allegri supervised the important renovation programme. Under his leadership, the luxurious Monegasque hotel was awarded the ‘Leaders Club Guest Recognition Award of Excellence’ by Leading Hotels of the World in December 2010. The celebrated international network also voted him “Best Hotelier 2010”.
Luca Allegri, a 43-year-old Italian, started his career in the luxury hotel business when he was 19. He worked in various positions from seasonal worker to sales manager. Trained in finance, catering, client relations and management at the prestigious Cornell University, he took on high-responsibility roles with the “Four Seasons” chain and co-directed the Plaza Athénée in Paris before joining the Hôtel de Paris. He is married with one child and is a keen sportsman, particularly basket-ball and tennis.
Luca Allegri replaces Michel Sabot who has retired after a brilliant 45-year career in the hotel business. Director of Hotel Operations since 1997, Michel Sabot was one of the key players in the implantation of the Monegasque group beyond the frontiers of the Principality, notably the Jawhar Marrakech project and the Monte Carlo Beach Club Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi.
