Acentic's Panorama(R) and Horizon satisfy guest expectations while increasing hotel revenue and brand differentiation

Acentic, a leading supplier of broadband systems and digital interactive TV (iTV) for the hotel industry, announced today that InterContinental Hotel Group's (IHG) InterContinental Budapest has purchased Acentic's Panorama(R) digital broadcast, on-demand and interactive TV services and Horizon High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA).

The Acentic Horizon Internet solution provides a bridge to the most flexible converged content strategy available. Acentic provides broadband services and in-room entertainment to the 402-room hotel. Located in the centre of Budapest on the Danube River, the InterContinental Budapest was rated one of the World's Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure magazine in January 2011.

After a two-year trial, InterContinental Budapest selected the Acentic system for its proven and reliable technology targeting at enhancing guests' satisfaction and increasing revenue opportunities. The hotel has had great success with high usage rates of Acentic Horizon HSIA offering high-speed wireless connection not only to guests in their rooms but also to hotel visitors that needed internet access.

"After the trial, we were convinced that Acentic is the optimal solution for the technology, as well as the flexibility and reliability to meet our unique requests for iTV and high-speed Internet," said Mathieu van Alphen, general manager of InterContinental Budapest. "We are especially pleased to offer reliable and fast Internet service to all of our visitors and guests, while enjoying high revenues from the HSIA offering."

"The InterContinental Budapest is Acentic's flagship hotel in Hungary and a model for other hotels in the country seeking to match its level of in-room entertainment and communications services," said Richard Robinson, CEO of Acentic.

Acentic is one of IHG's preferred providers for hotels across the UK and Europe, providing entertainment services to more than 12,000 IHG hotel rooms. In December 2010, Acentic signed a 9 Million pound contract with IHG to upgrade 59 UK Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza Hotels with its revolutionary Horizon HSIA solution and Panorama HD iTV entertainment and communication system. In addition to its entire range of iTV platforms, Acentic provides media and revenue management consultancy services to ensure that IHG hotels receive the best possible ROI whilst satisfying guests.
