Exceptional Performance Strengthens Hotel’s Role as Community Anchor
Embassy Suites Norman – Hotel & Conference Center in Oklahoma continues its stellar performance record as one of the best Embassy Suites in the world. The 10-story, 283-suite hotel is one of three to receive the prestigious “Connie” Award for being a top performing property among the 2010 Embassy Suites Hotels brand set of more than 200 upscale, all-suite hotels throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Located at 2501 Conference Drive, the luxury hotel and adjacent conference center are owned by living hotel legend Mr. John Q. Hammons and managed by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, the nation’s leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites (www.jqhhotels.com).
The Embassy Suites Norman’s top rating is based on quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards, as well as customer scores rating staff service and the quality of the hotel’s physical accommodations. The hotel will be honored with a “Connie” trophy, named for Hilton Hotels’ founder Conrad Hilton; a monetary prize; and recognition during an upcoming on-property ceremony.
Community Anchor
Prior to developing the Embassy Suites Norman ─ Hotel & Conference Center, Mr. Hammons recognized the potential of upscale hotel and convention facilities in the city of Norman to serve as a business demand anchor.
“Delivering on Mr. Hammons' legacy for exceptional quality is our priority at the Embassy Suites Norman,” said Joe Morrissey, senior vice president of operations for John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts. “Embassy Suites Norman’s outstanding track record since our opening in 2008 continues to strengthen our collaborative role as a community anchor for the city of Norman and Cleveland County.”
“Embassy Suites Norman has been a game changer for our community, and it is exciting to see the facility and its staff earn national and international recognition,” said Cindy Rosenthal, mayor of Norman. “Without the Embassy Suites’ high quality of service, Norman would not have been able to attract premier conferences and thousands of visitors to experience our city.”
University of Oklahoma President David Boren also reinforced the important role of the Embassy Suites Norman to the local area.
"I was really pleased to learn that Embassy Suites Norman has been ranked as one of the best in the world in terms of overall quality and service. It is a great benefit to the University of Oklahoma as well as to Norman to have such an outstanding facility in our community,” Boren said.
