Group continues growth of Banyan Tree footprint while strengthening Angsana presence

Banyan Tree Holdings Limited (“Banyan Tree” or “Group”), a leading manager and developer of premium resorts, hotels, spas and galleries, announces a slew of major hotel developments and refurbishments in 2011 – designed to enhance and expand the presence of the Group’s resort options for travellers from all around the world with its Banyan Tree and Angsana branded resorts.

Angsana Laguna Phuket – Flagship of Angsana Hotels & Resorts

In line with the growth and affirmation of Angsana as one of the leading brands in the premium hospitality industry, the Group announced the take-over, closure and major renovations (to the sum of USD 30 million) of the Sheraton Grande Laguna from 1 July, for the resort to re-open on 1 December 2011 as the re-branded Angsana Laguna Phuket. The extensive works will result in the restyling of the hotel lobby, rooms, restaurants, meeting rooms and facilities, as well as new and enhanced facilities for children and families. The Angsana-branded resort, sister brand of Banyan Tree, will be the flagship Angsana property showcasing Angsana’s new holiday concept, targeted to a new a new generation of individual and group travellers looking for a stylish vacation.

In line with the constant innovation which characterises the Angsana brand, the resort will introduce new and exciting concepts such as a tree house-inspired double-storey Kids’ Club and a Rice Bar featuring classic rice-based Asian favourites. Other facilities include the award-winning Angsana Spa, an Angsana Gallery, nine meeting rooms, and a 358sqm ballroom for functions and events.

DoublePool Villa – Your Private Resort

The DoublePool Villas at Banyan Tree Phuket bring the concept of a private resort to a whole new level. Nothing comes close to experiencing this ‘resort within a resort’ where each of the 24 villas have a land area of between 1,300 to 2,500sq m each, in one, two and three-bedroom configurations. Exclusively tucked away from the world and surrounded by private, expansive gardens, DoublePool Villas offer guests an oasis of tranquility, an absolute retreat to invigorate the senses.

Guests of the DoublePool Villas, even before arrival, are taken care of with the Express Airport Service – luggage pick-up, private villa entrance and in-villa check-in. Banyan Tree Macau – Opening Soon
Banyan Tree’s expansion in China continues, with its latest urban-resort, Banyan Tree Macau, expected to open in the second quarter of 2011 as part of integrated resort development Galaxy Macau™. This 5-star pool villa spa resort features world-class facilities with the Banyan Tree’s signature private indoor relaxation pools in all its 246 opulent suites overlooking the city, a first in Macau.

Ten Pool Villas, ranging from 450 sq m to 950 sq m, in their own gardens on the ‘Beach Resort Deck’ feature both private pools and air-conditioned cabanas with sliding glass doors opening directly onto an exclusive poolside retreat. With a dedicated villa host, the suites and villas are Oriental in design with high ceilings and ornate furnishings, complemented by auspicious vermillion red accents.
