Six Senses Resorts & Spas is delighted that Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives will open as planned on April 2nd, 2011.
Six Senses Laamu, the only resort on the previously undiscovered Laamu atoll, is the first Six Senses property in the Maldives, joining Soneva Fushi and Soneva Gili by Six Senses, which have set the benchmark for luxury sustainable tourism in the area. Six Senses Laamu will have 97 villas, built with Six Senses signature of natural and sustainable design, leaving the lightest of footprints on the environment. The villas are built over water and beside the beach amongst the verdant jungle.
Six Senses Laamu, as the latest resort of the Six Senses portfolio, has many exciting differences, which will lead Six Senses into the future. The Six Senses level of five star luxury, service, wonderful, fresh and organic food and wine and beautiful natural surroundings, are complemented by contemporary architecture – including a glass wine ‘cellar’, in the form of a six meter tower rising out of the sea – and a night time agenda of music, visiting dj’s and artists, along with cocktails from the only mixologist in the Maldives. It is a family friendly resort but also offers a surfers dream with a ‘ying yang’ wave, minutes away from the peaceful lagoon. Diving, snorkeling and swimming in and around the pristine coral reef is quite literally the best in the Maldives. Movies will be screened under the stars, for relaxing and romantic nights for guests, at Scene Cinema.
The resort will open in April as planned with villas and all the food and beverage areas open and ready for guests to enjoy. There will be a supervised, fun and educational centre for children, as a precursor for the exciting and pioneering childrens’ club – The Den - which will come next year.
The completion of additional dimensions to Six Senses Laamu will be progressed away from all guest areas and guest activities and won’t affect the pleasure of guests welcomed at Six Senses Laamu from April 2nd onwards.
