Earlier this year, the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa—one of the first five-star, luxury properties to grace Bali’s southern peninsula—unveiled the results of a sweeping and substantial refurbishment programme. The property now boasts an extensive range of rejuvenated rooms and facilities, retaining its classic touch but reinvigorated with a new look and feel.

“These major developments will fully reinforce the hotel’s position as one of the most important properties in the world as well as one of the most luxurious, innovative and iconic hotels in Nusa Dua,” said Reto Torriani, General Manager of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa.

He added that one of the most significant parts of the ongoing programme is the renovation of the rooms. Gone are the old Superior Rooms, replaced by the hotel’s 82 new Deluxe Rooms, located in its Nusa Dua Wing. The rooms vary in size from 34 square metres for couples to 48 square metres for families, while two joined rooms allow for larger families or groups.

Designed with sleek lines and ergonomic elegance, as well as tasteful, traditional Balinese touches and understated décor, as you pass through all of the rooms, an air of calm envelops you. Moving past the king-sized double or twin bed (an extra bed is provided in the Deluxe Room for 3) and workspace, each room also has a balcony that extends the living space, giving ample opportunity for rest and relaxation after a day out, or even a business meeting.

Meanwhile, the Deluxe Room for 4 comprises two regular Deluxe Rooms: connecting doors between the two extend the living space to almost 70 square metres, providing both ample space and privacy for a larger or older family or for two couples. One room comes with a double bed and bathtub, while the connecting room has a twin bed with a shower only. The Family Room comfortably accommodates two adults and two children with a king-sized double bed and bunk beds, in the kids’ space, along with a children’s desk.

Redesigned with all the needs of today’s traveller in mind, all Deluxe Room bathrooms boast contemporary amenities, while wooden doors slide open onto the spacious bedroom and beyond. Meanwhile, all the rooms come equipped with air conditioning, an electronic lock, an IDD telephone, a flat-screen LCD TV with 24-hour cable, a hairdryer, an electronic safe, a mini bar and tea-/coffee-making facilities. Internet access is also provided in each room, allowing business guests to work around their hectic schedules, and all guests to stay in touch with their loved ones.

Further renovation work on this iconic landmark building in Nusa Dua includes the luxurious Agung Spa and Agung Garden Wing guestrooms, designed to evoke a warm, residential feel, as well as the Wedang Jahe restaurant. The transformation of these areas will be completed and open to the public by mid 2011.

“In line with our efforts to provide the highest-quality hospitality and service to our guests, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa has embarked on a programme of further refurbishments in this coming year, ensuring that we remain a major destination in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Reto Torriani, General Manager of Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa.
