Esteemed British actor, Clive Owen, will join eight other experts, including Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Palme d’Or winner 2010, and Efe Cakarel, Founder and CEO of the online cinematheque MUBI, on the jury of the Design Hotels™ ‘Don’t Forget the Popcorn’ photo contest. The six-month promotion, in collaboration with Leica, the prestigious camera company, and MUBI, invited cinema fans to play director and take photographs of themselves re-enacting iconic movie scenes in a hotel. The winning images will be exhibited at Hotel Q! in Berlin on Saturday February 12, during the 2011 Berlinale International Film Festival, and online at www.DesignHotels.com/popcorn. Winners will receive fantastic prizes, including free nights at The Dolder Grand, a luxury city retreat perched above Lake Zurich known as one of the original grand hotels, and Alila Villas Soori, an idyllic all-villa property located next to Bali’s black-sand beaches. Other prizes include a Playstation 3 and a stylish Leica D-Lux 5 camera, a compact and versatile camera with an elegant design and a resolution of 10.1 megapixels.

The full jury consists of:

‘Don’t Forget the Popcorn’ has been a six-month program of movie magic in collaboration with MUBI and Leica. In September 2010 part one of the campaign was launched. Contestants voted for their favorite movie scene in a hotel, in return for a movie voucher and the chance to win prizes. In part two, a special ‘Popcorn rate’ of 15% off the Best Available Rate was offered at participating hotels, valid for arrivals until March 2011. The grand finale of the promotion will occur during the Berlinale International Film Festival.
