Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has augmented its portfolio and Washington, D.C. offerings with the addition of the AAA Four-Diamond Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. into its membership. Located just steps from the Tidal Basin and the famed cherry blossoms, and within minutes of Capitol Hill, the hotel offers beautiful views of the Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument. Also a recipient of the prestigious Forbes Four-Star designation, the hotel will now receive dedicated and authorized National Sales services and support by ALHI to the meetings, incentive/recognition travel, and convention marketplaces.

ALHI (www.alhi.com) is a prestigious dues-based membership National Sales organization that represents more than 130 Four- and Five-Diamond hotels and resorts worldwide to meeting professionals, incentive/recognition specialists, association executives, product launch specialists, and business executives wishing to conduct programs at one or more of the member properties. There is no cost to planners’ or executives’ organizations to utilize the National Sales services of ALHI, as its members’ dues fund the organization to serve planners in their region.

Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. becomes ALHI’s fourth member in Washington, D.C., joining: The Madison, a sophisticated landmark hotel that is four blocks from the White House, and features 353 guest rooms and 12,500 square feet of meeting space; the popular Washington Court Hotel on Capitol Hill, just steps from the U.S. Capitol, offering 265 newly-renovated guest rooms and more than 18,000 square feet of meeting space; plus the highly acclaimed and historically significant Willard InterContinental, ideally located along Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and the U.S. Capitol, and within easy walking access of the National Mall, theaters and the Smithsonian.

“ALHI continues to experience enormous demand for meetings in our nation’s capital city,” said David Gabri, president and CEO of ALHI. “The recent addition of the beautiful Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. into our ALHI portfolio will certainly enable us to serve more accounts, including those requiring larger ballrooms to meet their needs.”

Gabri continued, “With its outstanding location, impressive views, exceptional meeting spaces, and the renowned Mandarin Oriental reputation for service and culinary excellence, Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. is a wonderful choice for planners.”

Located within walking distance of the nation’s most cherished monuments, Capitol Hill, and the museums of the Smithsonian Institute, Mandarin Oriental, Washington, D.C. features 400 stylish guest rooms and suites which provide impressive waterfront or city views. Meeting offerings at the elegant hotel include 38,000 square feet of meeting space (which includes the 8,300-square-foot pillar-less Grand Ballroom), and a 5,000-square-foot outdoor garden with marina views. Additional offerings at the hotel include the AAA Five-Diamond CityZen restaurant, a 10,500-square-foot spa (ranked in the top 3 for “Best Hotel Spas in North America” in Condé Nast Traveler’s “Readers Choice Awards 2010”), a 50-foot indoor heated lap pool, a fitness center, and the popular Empress Lounge. The hotel is located just 12 minutes from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Meeting professionals, association executives, and incentive/recognition specialists have utilized ALHI’s National Sales services for 25 years, with reliable one-call professional sales assistance and access to their distinctive hotels and resorts for meetings and incentive/recognition programs ranging from 10 to more than 6,500 rooms.
