Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and Okura Hotels & Resorts marked their fifth year of successful partnership today in an event held in Singapore at Fullerton Hotel. In celebration of the milestone, both hotel groups organised an event showcasing a selection of their properties, attended by over a hundred clients and partners in Singapore.

Since 2006, Banyan Tree and Okura have partnered to expand each other’s brand and worldwide sales networks, in turn bringing greater benefits to their guests. Commenting on the partnership, Mr Arthur Kiong, Managing Director, Hotel Operations - Asia Pacific & Senior Vice President, Group Marketing Services, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts said, “Together, our guests enjoy Okura’s understated yet sophisticated Japanese touches with detailed attention to creating the best international hotels; alongside the Sanctuary for the Senses that Banyan Tree offers through its gracious Asian hospitality combined with the romance of travel and holistic rejuvenation.”

In 2011, Banyan Tree’s partnership with Okura is set to reach a deeper level with the opening of Galaxy Macau’s integrated destination resort, which will feature both a Banyan Tree, and an Okura hotel. Banyan Tree Macau features 246 suites which are the largest in Asia, starting with 100 m2 for the smallest suite. Every single suite will feature a private indoor relaxation pool – the first hotel in Macau to offer this. In 1994, Banyan Tree was the first to offer private pools with every villa since – and now, private pools in every suite in a high-rise urban hotel.

Banyan Tree Macau will also be the only hotel in the world to feature ten full-size resort villas with their own gardens and their own private, full-size swimming pools, atop of the Galaxy podium - further strengthening itself as an innovator in the industry. The Banyan Tree Spa with its 21 treatment rooms, will be amongst the Group’s largest spas, servicing the entire Galaxy Macau development of more than 2,000 hotel rooms.

In 2011, Banyan Tree will be continuing its rapid expansion plans and growing its footprint in the region and beyond. The Group will be opening the first Banyan Tree Spa in Singapore as well as Banyan Tree Riverside in Shanghai, Angsana Hangzhou and Angsana Balaclava in Mauritius.
