China continues to lead global hospitality pack
Global hospitality interior design leader HBA has a booming portfolio of 22 hotel and resort projects scheduled for completion in 2011, with China again accounting for the lion’s share.
Following seven openings on the mainland last year, another nine are due during the Year of the Rabbit.
Projects for Hyatt Regency and Shangri-La in Chongqing along with Westin in Ningbo indicate significant growth in China’s fast-growing second-tier cities.
Partnerships continue with Four Seasons in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen – along with the new Beijing Sheraton and Hainan Guobingwan in Haikou, the provincial capital of China’s southernmost island.
HBA is also completing a new ESPA at the ICC Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong, complementing another ESPA in Istanbul.
Three projects also underline surging growth of the India market, including the prestigious Park Hyatt Hyderabad and keenly-awaited Taj Delhi. Also in India, HBA is designing interiors for the new corporate offices for Bhushan Steel.
The United Arab Emirates similarly continues to grow from strength-to-strength, with Ritz-Carlton Dubai nearing completion along with two St Regis projects, Nation Towers and Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi.
HBA is also establishing a firm presence in Egypt, with the new Cairo Marriott and the Willowstream Spa at Fairmont Nile City – following last year’s completion of Fairmont Nile City, on the banks of the famed Nile River, and Oberoi Cairo, in the shadow of the Pyramids.
Additional projects in Panama (Trump Ocean Club Hotel), Las Vegas (Cosmopolitan Tower VIP Suite), Azerbaijan (Fairmont Hotel Baku) and London (Churchill Bar) point to one of HBA’s most prolific years on record for prestigious hospitality openings.
