BRV Asia's 'Life & Love' offers six nights and three candlelit dinners at USD 1,000

Life Resorts, a Dutch-owned resort group that's won acclaim in Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top-ten resorts in Asia, has released a week-long package that takes in three of its Vietnam resorts.

Geared toward honeymooners specifically but open to all, the new 'Life & Love' package is the debut theme in a new series of packages to be rolled out by Life Resorts in its BRV (Best Resort Value) Asia series.

'Life & Love' delivers six nights accommodation, including breakfast, at Life Resorts properties in Hoi An, Quy Nhon and Mui Ne, as well as a candlelit dinner, a bottle of Champagne and a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates at each of the three resorts.

In both Hoi An and Quy Nhon, accommodation will be in junior suites; in Mui Ne, the accommodation will be in a sea view bungalow. This first BRV Asia package will run from April 1, 2011 to Oct. 31, 2011.

"As we embark on 2011 with a finger to the wind on travel trends for the coming year, the demand for value is first and foremost," said Chris Duffy, General Director of the Life Resorts Management Company. "And if by value, you mean the difference between what you get and what you pay for, we don't think there’s any resort in Asia that provides as much value as the Life Resorts, whether you're honeymooning, on holiday or the front man for one of the world’s most legendary rock & roll bands."

The new initiative was prompted by Life Resort's 2009, 2010 and 20011 inclusions on Conde Nast Traveler's Readers Choice Awards and Gold List. In the Nov. 2010 Readers Choice Awards, Life Heritage Resort Hoi An scored a top-ten spot on a list of Asia's best resorts, a list that included the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai where a single night's accommodation costs $2,450.

Indeed, Life's 89.7 ranking bested the score obtained by the Four Seasons on Bali.

Life's sister properties in Quy Nhon and Mui Ne did not rate placement on the list, but Duffy said the distinctions between the resorts, both in terms of hardware and software, are negligible.

"Hoi An is one of the top drawing cards in the country," said Duffy, "and a more likely destination for readers of one of the world's most prestigious travel magazines. But if you drill down to some of Vietnam's 'deeper cuts,' if you will, in Quy Nhon and Mui Ne, you're going to discover resorts that are every bit as good as Hoi An's, and destinations that are all the more compelling for their lack of notoriety."

Conde Nast Traveler readers hailed the Hoi An resort's design, rooms and location above all other attributes. While the resort's price-point curries favor from travelers on the strictest budgets, well-heeled travelers, including the Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger, frequent the hotel, as well.

"Sir Mick's visit meant a ton to us," said Duffy. "We're determined to cut a reputation as the greatest resort value anywhere. But when people who can stay anywhere stay with us, we know we’ve conjured some magic."

ABOUT LIFE RESORTS
Life Resorts owns and operates two resorts in Vietnam and manages one other. On Vietnam's central coast, the 94-room Life Heritage Resort Hoi An evokes the colonial splendor of a bygone era on a quiet stretch of the Thu Bon River within walking distance of the trading port's world-famous Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the south-central coast, the 63-room Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon is dedicated to the tenets of wellness, from yoga and tai chi to an ample range of spa treatments and anti-stress and detox programs. Four hours from Ho Ch Minh City, Life manages the 84-room Blue Ocean Resort at Mui Ne, featuring a 153-meter beach, a 26-meter swimming pool and lush tropical grounds.

Life Resorts is also developing a property on Halong Bay, scheduled to open later in 2011.
