Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong adds new flair to musical entertainment with David Gómez, an internationally known Spanish pianist and world-class performer. Mr Gómez will take the stage at Shang Palace on 21 December 2010 from 8 to 9:15 p.m. and at the Lobby Lounge on 22 December 2010 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. A Ferrer wine tasting and wine dinner event will complement both performances.

On 21 December, the evening will begin with a Ferrer wine tasting at Tapas Bar from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Guests will then proceed to the Michelin two-star Shang Palace for a six-course wine dinner, along with a 75-minute piano concert that will start at 8 p.m. The wine dinner is priced at HK$880 per person. Mr Gómez will continue to grace the stage with his classical piano music at the “new” Lobby Lounge on 22 December from 6 to 7:15 p.m., while guests enjoy sipping Ferrer wines and sampling canapés. A four-course dinner, either at Angelini or at Nadaman, will follow the performance. The concert, wine tasting and dinner set is priced at HK$990 per person.

The Lobby Lounge, situated in the two-storey lobby of Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, is currently undergoing a three-week long refurbishment programme and will unveil its new look on 22 December 2010. The piano concert by Mr David Gómez will be the auspicious event to start a new chapter for the Lobby Lounge. Retaining the original design with glittering crystal chandeliers, a delicate indoor fountain and large murals depicting the Shangri-La Valley, the new décor will be dominated by brand new elegant upholstery in the colours of blue, grey and green.

Born in 1974, David Gómez was introduced to music at a very early age. He obtained his degree as a Professional Pianist at the Conservatory of Palma de Mallorca. His first concert took place at the tender age of 14, and he went on to perform in legendary theatres and recital halls such as the National Concert Hall in Dublin, St Martin in the Fields in London, the Cairo Opera House, the Chicago Cultural Center, among others. Most recently, he represented Spain at the International Piano Festival. As a gifted pianist, he has won critical acclaim around the world and received a number of awards in national and international contests, including the V International Piano Contest “Pio Tur,” II Piano Contest “Miquel Ballester I Serra,” Spain National Contest “Antoni Torrandell,” just to name a few. In 2002, he released his first solo album, A. Piazzolla. Tangos para Piano, which was well received in Europe. Mr Gómez will bring his musical talent to Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong after his performance at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City in mid-December, 2010.
