Bali’s first luxury Bed & Breakfast, Villa Juno, is now open to guests in the premier private villa colony of Canggu, in the south western part of the Island of the Gods. It is located 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport and only 20 minutes from the trendy shops and restaurants of Seminyak
Sprawled over 2,500 sqm on several levels overlooking lush rice fields, Villa Juno revels in idyllic seclusion, providing a serene retreat from the traditional tourist enclaves of Kuta and Seminyak. A private residence built in traditional Balinese style, the villa comprises three luxuriously appointed, air conditioned bedroom units, fitted with their own patios, indoor oversized bathtubs for two surfaced with mother of pearl and outdoor shower areas set amidst a miniature rock garden. Unlike hotel rooms and many luxury villas, these units are designed for maximum privacy.

Measuring 63 sqm, each spacious unit is housed in separate pavilions flanking a garden courtyard and tastefully furnished in mahogany inlaid with local materials including crushed bamboo and cracked coconut shell. Specially commissioned paintings and bamboo chicks with blackout covers complete each bedroom's décor. Beds are custom made to super king size complemented by soft cotton bed linen with a 400 thread-count to ensure a comfortable sleep while other thoughtful touches include large, thick towels, ceiling fans, pure cotton mosquito nets, in-room safes, writing desk, 32” flat screen plasma TV screen and DVD players.

Just beyond the courtyard, a stone staircase descends to the dining and living pavilion on the left and the gazebo to the right. With its lofty wooden beams fitted with ceiling fans, the airy dining pavilion serves as a cosy breakfast nook with an open kitchen concept. Guests can view the host whipping up delightful Indonesian pancakes or omelettes for a leisurely morning meal, or a cake made with bananas grown in the garden for afternoon tea. In one corner, a cosy lounge area is equipped with a DVD player, a CD/DVD library and reading materials. The gazebo is a favourite spot for lounging away the day next to a lotus pond. A mini bale or traditional Balinese outdoor pavilion adds a charming touch to the poolside. Villa Juno is entirely wifi enabled so guests can stay connected throughout their stay whether in their room or by the poolside.

Just a few steps away is the 14-metre long lap pool overlooking a grassy enclosure teeming with fruit trees, vegetable shrubs and other colorful tropical plants. Early risers tend to be mesmerized by farmers tilling away on the flourishing rice terraces in the stillness of dawn while the twilight glow frames a spectacular postcard picture for guests lazing around the pool or indulging in evening cocktails.

The service at Villa Juno can best be described as gracious and intuitive. With a live-in host, guests are always assured that their needs and requests are attended to in a friendly yet unobtrusive manner. Fluent in both Bahasa and English, the well-travelled Singapore born host is a mine of information on local sights, attractions and experiences. Services include hiring a car or motorbike, a driver or tour guide for the day, and recommending restaurants and shops in town.

Typical of the B&B style of lodging found in Europe or Australia, Villa Juno offers a cozy, intimate experience as not more than six guests are housed at any one time. The stay is inclusive of breakfast (Balinese or western) and afternoon tea - a special treat at Villa Juno comprising a slice of delicious home-baked cake and a choice of pressed coffee, freshly-brewed tea or a cold drink. Although lunch and dinner are not typically provided at Villa Juno, prior arrangements can be made. All food served is prepared at the villa using fresh and natural ingredients. Villa Juno is an oasis of tranquillity and comfort for those seeking solace from their hectic urban lifestyles.

Introductory rates at Villa Juno start from US$120 per room per night and from US$290 per villa per night. Rates are subject to 10% tax and 5% service charge. Minimum two nights' stay during low season and five nights during high and peak seasons.
