The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the cool place to be this season. For those visitors who miss the cold and ice, the ice skating rink is the perfect opportunity to get into the winter spirit.
Located in the Village Events Plaza, the seasonal ice skating rink has become a local and holiday favorite as The Village of Baytowne Wharf offers active fun for the whole family. Open to the public, the ice rink will be available now through February 14.
"The ice rink was very popular last year and we have really been looking forward to this year's opening, " said Lanier Motes, "This year will be even better as the rink has expanded into a full sized ice skating rink for everyone to enjoy and is also available for private parties or school activities."
The Village of Baytowne Wharf has also teamed up with the Coats for Kids Drive sponsored by United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Guest are encourages to bring a new or gently worn coat and receive one free entry with the purchase of one. This annual drive has been able to provide more than 1,800 coats to families in local communities.
For just $10 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skates are available for rent for $2. The rink will be open during the week from 4-9 p.m., on Fridays 4-10 p.m., on Saturdays, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. The first hour of each day is reserved for "kids skate" for youths 12 and under.
