Join the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel to taste the hotel's private label 2009 Harvest Cabernet on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the hotel's lobby bar.
The wine produced from grapes from the Sierra foothills in California were crushed directly in the hotel lobby last year. Through a partnership with local winery Wild Blossom Meadery & Winery, the Chicago, IL hotel is able to offer their guests their own private wines.
"We've had the program in place for the past few years," says Executive Chef Myk Banas, "It's nice to offer our guests the exclusivity of tasting a wine that you can only get here. We have our hands in the process from the crushing to the end result, and we are excited to introduce the 2009 Harvest Cabernet."
Open to the public and for only $10, guests can experience the new wine paired with charcuterie and artisan cheeses. Tastings will include house-made pork rillettes, andouille sausage and fennel and cranberry sausage. The cheeses will be a selection of Midwestern cheeses like True Bleu Cheddar Laack Brothers Cheese and Gouda Cheese from Beechwood Dairy among other selections.
The Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel is located at 540 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. Please call 312-836-0100 with questions.
