A delicious experience which evokes the fond memories of traditional afternoon tea.

Available every weekend, from 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m, starting in August.

This initiative is being launched at the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, but will also soon be available at the Tivoli Lisboa and the Tivoli Victoria.

Starting in August it will be possible to relive that delicious tradition which will bring back all those fond childhood memories: The afternoon tea. An important meal as part of a balanced and healthy diet and very often forgotten because of the pressures of modern living.

Every weekend, from 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., the restaurant at the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais will be offering a Portuguese style afternoon tea service with a buffet that is sure to appeal to both children as well as adults. The menu is something special and includes home-baked cakes made with genuine traditional recipes, chocolate squares as light as marshmallows, almond cakes made with freshly whipped cream, not to mention fresh country bread and the best of Portuguese cheeses, hams and jams.

On a cold day you might want to drink an aromatic tea, with theTWG mark of quality, or maybe a mug of hot chocolate, but on summer afternoons you'll probably want to try our fresh fruit juices, or refreshing traditional iced barley coffee.

“Now that the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais has been fully restored, I can't think of a better place in the world to also restore a really excellent Portuguese tradition. It is the best possible tribute to Queen Catherine of Braganza who knew the benefits of exporting afternoon tea and cakes, and which the English developed so well”, says Luís Baena, Executive Chef of Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, who helped design this new concept of Portuguese style afternoon tea.

With the constant aim of surprising guests and bringing real meaning to our concept of “Experience More”, Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is now launching a new experience which is as tasty as it is unforgettable. It is a journey back to traditional Portuguese patisserie, with a more contemporary twist which will evoke memories of the tastes and aromas of traditional afternoon tea.
The tea, the delicacies, the afternoon, the aromas, the textures, the care with which everything is made along with the unique atmosphere of Seteais will make every afternoon tea a unique experience. To come back and enjoy again – at any time in the year.

In September, Portuguese style afternoon teas will also be available at the Tivoli Lisboa and the Tivoli Victoria, in Vilamoura.
