Following the success of The Pavilions’ inaugural ‘Passion for Perfume’ programme in April, the luxury resort will host a new series of courses in August.
Within the idyllic setting of The Pavilions, Phuket, the first two-day ‘Passion for Perfume’ course will be held on 19-20 August with a second planned for 21-22 August.
Designed specifically for couples, ‘Passion for Perfume’ explores the sensual pleasures of scent. Whatever emotion it evokes, perfume arouses our senses. Alluring or beguiling, irritating or affronting, fragrances have always enchanted. Subtle or sweet, heady or heartbreaking, exotic or erotic, one person’s perfume can be another’s poison… or temptation.
Over the two-day course, guests will experiment with fragrances and understand the connection between scents and emotions. In the end, couples can create their own signature perfume, a pheromone-sparking fragrance that sets pulses racing and sends an erotic shiver down the spine.
Once again ‘Passion for Perfume’ will be hosted by world-renowned perfumer Stephen V Dowthwaite (pictured), founder of Perfumers World. For two fragrant-filled days, senses will be stirred as Stephen leads couples on a scent-sationally intimate experience.
Each day the ‘Passion for Perfume’ programme will consist of a two-hour morning session followed by a three-hour practical afternoon workshop.
Day One – Feel the Smell Morning Session: Guests will be introduced to the ABCs of Perfumery where they learn the basics of blending and begin to identify a fragrance’s key notes.
Afternoon Workshop: Using their newfound skills, couples will reproduce their favorite perfume using a selection of 26 base fragrances.
Day Two – Express Yourself: Communicating with Smells Two-hour Morning Session: How evocative is a fragrance? Couples will find out when they blend their own perfume to convey a feeling, place or atmosphere.
Three-hour Afternoon Workshop: Once they understand the senses-stirring ability of essential oils and natural extracts, couples will create their own personal aphrodisiac.
Along with a bottle of their signature scent, at the end of the two-day escape couples will receive a 40-page guide to Perfumery and an industry-recognized certificate.
Price for the two-day programme is from THB 8,250 net per person (approx.US$260), inclusive of a daily lunch and snacks.
