Fast-expanding regional hospitality chain, Park Hotel Group, has announced senior appointments for its Singapore portfolio of hotels with the impending launch of its flagship property, Grand Park Orchard.

After successfully launching Park Hotel Clarke Quay in Singapore just over a year ago, General Manager Darren Ware has been appointed to lead the team at Grand Park Orchard.
For Darren, the appointment is a homecoming as he was the General Manager of the then Park Hotel Orchard which has undergone an S$80-million makeover to be launched as Grand Park Orchard.

Under his leadership at Park Hotel Clarke Quay, the hotel achieved occupancies of over 90% within less than a year since opening in May 2009. During his tenure, the hotel also won the Best Hotel Construction & Design Singapore accolade at the prestigious Asia-Pacific Property Awards this year.
“Darren did a tremendous job in setting new benchmarks for Park Hotel Clarke Quay. We believe he will take our flagship property to greater heights as we introduce a new level of sophistication and style with Grand Park Orchard,” said Mr Allen Law, Director of Park Hotel Group.

Taking over Darren’s role at Park Hotel Clarke Quay is Angeline Tan, who was the Executive Assistant Manager of sister hotel, Grand Park City Hall. During her two-year tenure at the award-winning Grand Park City Hall, Angeline oversaw the refurbishment of the hotel’s facilities, including 3 F&B outlets, Crystal Club Lounge, the Grand Ballroom and Spa Park Asia.

Taking over Angeline’s leadership at Grand Park City Hall is hospitality industry veteran Lakshman Perera. The newly-appointed General Manager has extensive experience having worked in the US, Canada, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Middle East and several Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore.

“As our Group expands, we’d like to expose our senior executives such as Darren and Angeline to new opportunities as part of their career advancement plans. We are also constantly enhancing our management capabilities with the infusion of seasoned professionals like Lakshman,” said Mr Mohd K Rafin, Senior Vice President of Park Hotel Group.
