The Nam Hai has teamed with Ho Chi Minh City-based SaigonSports Academy and its No. 1 tennis instructor to offer a variety of fun and game changing classes this summer.
From July 5 until Aug. 29, Vietnam’s premier resort will house SSA’s Mr. Vu Truong, the country’s top-ranked junior tennis player for five consecutive years and one of its leading professionals.
While on property, Vu will provide interested guests the opportunity to learn the game — or improve their skills — through intense private lessons, group clinics or casual Saturday night ‘mixers’.
“Vu received his education and tennis training in North America and served as a supervisor at the Canadian National Training Center,” said Mr. Connor Nguyen, director of SSA and a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Level 1 coach — the highest certification attainable in the U.S. “He knows the game and he knows how to teach it.”
SSA’s experience developing players spans all levels, from beginners to the best. Nguyen’s students — such as Russian phenom Vasilisa Bardina, recently ranked inside the top 50 on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour — have won six pro titles and nine U.S. national championships.
Prices range from US$25 for one-hour junior tennis classes to US$180 for the junior multi-sports camp, a three-day program for 6- to 14-year-olds that includes training in tennis, football (soccer), basketball, swimming and other ball games.
“The beauty of the SSA programs is there is something for everyone,” said Mr. Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, general manager of The Nam Hai. “What’s more, the quality is of a standard we strive to align ourselves with.”
The launch of the SSA tennis programs comes at a time when The Nam Hai is offering its limited-time-only Family Summer Experience, a promotion for families with kids between the ages of 4 and 12.
Key features of the US$2,100 package that expires Sept. 30 include: four nights accommodation in a pool villa; daily breakfast for four; and US$150 in food and beverage credit.
Situated on 35 hectares of landscaped tropical gardens overlooking the East Sea, The Nam Hai is an exclusive, all-villa property featuring 60 one-bedroom villas and 40 pool villas ranging from one to five bedrooms, each with its own infinity pool.
Signature features of The Nam Hai include two gourmet restaurants; a tropical spa beside a lagoon; three beachfront swimming pools; an 18-hole, Colin Montgomerie-designed golf course (The Montgomerie Links Vietnam); and four lighted hard court tennis courts.
Since opening in December 2006, The Nam Hai has established a reputation as one of the best resorts anywhere. Among the many accolades it has received include:
