For the Second Consecutive Year

For the second consecutive year, The Houston Chronicle has named Benchmark Hospitality International one of the Top 100 Privately Held Companies in Houston, placing the company at #44 on the prestigious list. Benchmark Hospitality is a leading US-based hospitality management company with headquarters in The Woodlands, a 27,000-acre master-planned community north of Houston. A company's standing on the Top 100 list was determined by revenues achieved during the previous calendar year, with Benchmark Hospitality reporting $335 million across its management portfolio of 30 properties.

“This is an honor that is especially important to our company this year as we recognize our 30th Anniversary,” said Burt Cabañas, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Benchmark Hospitality International. “The Woodlands is our home and has been a wonderful place to live and to build our growing business. We are grateful for this recognition and honored to be included among such important companies on the 2010 Top 100 List.”

Benchmark Hospitality International is one of the leading hospitality management companies in the United States with a portfolio of hotels, resorts and conference centers in locations coast to coast, off shore in Hawaii, and internationally in Japan. The company has projects in development within Central and South America, as well as in Japan. Benchmark employs more than 4600 hospitality professionals worldwide.

Benchmark Hospitality International was founded in 1980 by Burt Cabañas, a recognized leader within the hospitality industry, and is based in The Woodlands, Texas. The company began as a subsidiary of The Woodlands Corporation, a subsidiary of Mitchell Energy & Development Corp. of Houston, managing and marketing resorts, conference centers and hotels. Mr. Cabañas purchased the company in a leveraged buy-out in 1986.

The Houston Chronicle is one of the nation’s leading newspapers and the largest paper in the state of Texas. For a complete listing of the Houston Chronicle’s Top 100 Privately Held Companies in Houston, please reference: http://www.chron.com/databases/chron100-privatecompanies.html
