In recognition of its ongoing green initiatives and unreserved contribution to protecting the environment, Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong received the prestigious “China’s Best Green Hotel of 2010” award at the Golden Pillow Award Ceremony recently held in Hangzhou, China. The hotel also received the Silver award of the “2009 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence,” organised by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and at the China Hotel Starlight Awards Presentation Ceremony, it was named “One of the Best Business Hotels in China.”
The Golden Pillow Awards of China's Hotels is organised by China's leading financial media, 21st Century Business Herald. The focus of this year’s 21st Century Award Ceremony was environmental protection. As the grand award winner of “China’s Best Green Hotel of 2010,” Stefan Bollhalder, the Area and General manager of Kowloon Shangri La, Hong Kong, was one of the guest speakers at an afternoon forum on the prospects and contributions of China’s hotels in preserving the environment at the 21st Century Hotel Industry Summit 2010.
More than 300 hotels in Greater China participated in The China Hotel Starlight Awards, and the grand event attracted more than 500 guests, including representatives from over 20 hotel groups, hotel developers and government officers.
