To celebrate the arrival of summer, Sofitel Luxury Hotels will organize La Fete de la Musique (21st June 2010) - a French celebration of all genres of music - entertaining guests with concerts, dinners and parties to inspire musicians and music lovers everywhere in the world.
All over the world, the change of seasons marks a musical celebration. Amateurs and professional musicians are encouraged to perform in the street and many public concerts are organized to introduce new genres of music to the public.
In South East Asia, guests at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi will be invited to celebrate at three venues, Angelina, Le Club Bar and Spices Garden, where there will be a range of music playing. From a live jazz band lead by Grammy Award nominee Andromeda Turre, to Vietnamese folklore singers and an internationally renowned French DJ, guests will experience a wide range of music as well as specially designed cocktails and themed dinners.
Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila will enjoy an evening of jazz, blues, funk and soul by Filipino artists, brought to guests by Sofitel and Alliance Francais de Manille. With free Flowing Moet & Chandon, French wine and cheese rituals and an evening of pure relaxation, guests can lay by the pool and enjoy a chilled evening of blues.
Sofitel Bangkok Silom is hosting not only an evening event, but also a Dim Sum lunch in Shanghais 38 where guests can dine to the music of the traditional Chinese harp. The evening event will fill V9 with the smooth sounds of jazz whilst guests enjoy a selection of cheeses and wines.
In Greater China, guests will be treated to an evening of oysters and champagne at Sofitel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental. From 6pm to 9.30pm, a French band will play live music whilst guests sip Mumm Cordon Rouge Brut NV Champagne and enjoy an array of oysters.
Celebrating in true French style, Pianist and composer Cédric Hanriot will perform at Sofitel Xian on Renmin Square, bringing to life French classic tunes with a jazz twist and catchy flare. As well as this there will be French snacks and wine available with a selection of French cheeses to cater to your every desire.
In the Pacific region, throughout Australia, Sofitel Luxury Hotels will be celebrating Fete de la Musique with lives bands, cocktails and evening soirees. At Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, will be hosting Les Tsiganes trio in Sofi’s Bar and Atrium Bar. In keeping with the origins of La Fete de la Musique as a street music festival, the band, compromised of a violinist, an accordion player and a vocalist will be roaming throughout the tables. Sofitel Brisbane Central will start the day’s celebrations with the “Free Popular Fete” in Cuvee Lounge and guests will be treated to French Gypsy Style Swing. The celebrations will then move forward to Club Lounge and Thyme2 Restaurant where further musical entertainment will be provided throughout the evening. A traditional French Trio including an accordionist will entertain guests at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Staff will be dressed up in Carnival wear with the Lounge themed accordingly and guests will be able to choose from a delightful platter of French cheeses.
