Discover Life offers ‘most memorable stay per dollar’ of any resort in the world

While Hanoi celebrates the 1000th anniversary of its founding, and all Vietnam celebrates the 35th anniversary of war’s end, Life Resorts has pieced together the makings of what it believes to be the most enticing stay package of the year.

From May 3 to Oct. 15, Life Resorts is opening the doors on a superior room for two people, for two nights, with breakfast, with a $30 food and beverage voucher, with a 30-minute treatment in the Life Spa, and with a complimentary airport transfer at any of its four resorts for US $199.

There are several minor exceptions (i.e. the package price is $246 at the just-opened Life Resort Danang), but the recession-busting deal is good to go at $199 on the beach at Mui Ne (Blue Ocean Resort), on the beach outside Quy Nhon (Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon) and in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An (Life Heritage Resort Hoi An).

2010 promises to be a phenomenal year for the collection of boutique resorts with a reputation that’s winning raves otherwise reserved for such 5-star properties as the Four Seasons.

In October, Conde Nast Traveler placed Life Heritage Resort in Hoi An 12th on a list of Asia’s top 25 resorts. Six of the top 10 on the Reader’s Choice Awards are managed by Four Seasons, and Life placed higher than Amanpuri (Phuket) and the Datai (Langkawi).

No fluke this selection, for the same Life Resort was one of only three hotels and resorts to make the grade on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2010 Gold List.

“Although Conde Nast singled out our Hoi An property, the experience at all of the Life Resorts is as compelling,” said Chris Duffy, general director of the Life Resorts. “You could spend near $1,000 to stay one night at some of our peers on that list, or you could spend $100 at one of our resorts and come away with the same sense of satisfaction.”

Duffy believes the Dutch-owned resort chain provides the most memorable stay per dollar of any resort in the world.

“That sounds like a boast until you read the reviews, survey what’s on offer at resorts across the world, look at our properties and do the math,” he said.

The Discover Life package also includes complimentary Internet access, a complimentary half-day bicycle hire and a 15% discount on additional nights’ bookings.

Anyone who books a Discover Life package is automatically entered into a Life Lottery for a five-night stay at one of the resorts.
