Benchmark Hospitality International has named Katie Kaye director of training for the leading, privately-held hospitality management company. Ellen Sinclair, Benchmark’s senior vide president, made the announcement.
"It is with pleasure that I welcome Katie to Benchmark Hospitality International," said Ms. Sinclair. "She brings important expertise in hospitality operations, training development and delivery, as well as human resource support to her new role with our company.”
Katie Kaye was most recently director of training and staff development for Ocean Reef Club of Key Largo, Florida, where she supported an employee team of over 1000 persons. In this role, she was responsible for the development and delivery of the property’s university curriculum, and worked with numerous departments to deliver training programs and an invigorated service culture, enhancing guests’ experience and satisfaction levels.
Previous to this, Ms. Key served as operations manager for Sun Coast Staffing of Tampa. Her initial position with the company was as staffing coordinator. Earlier in her career she was senior assistant manager and corporate trainer for Rafferty’s Restaurants of Kennesaw, Georgia. She launched her career serving in positions of increasing responsibility within the food and beverage industry.
Katie Kaye earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her Associate degree from Daytona Beach Community College. She is a Certified Hospitality Trainer, and serves as a coordinator and proctor for the American Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Institute. Ms. Kaye is active in the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers, the professional association that is the leading resource for the development and advancement of hospitality training professionals. A member of the American Society for Training and Development, she is also active in Toastmasters International and currently serves as president of her chapter. Ms. Kaye and her husband are relocating to The Woodlands.
