Puerto Vallarta’s Favored All-inclusive Resort Sports a New Name

Long-renowned for its lush scenery, sweeping Pacific views and authentically Mexican hospitality and charm, the former Barceló La Jolla de Mismaloya has rebranded as Barceló Puerto Vallarta, emphasizing its premier location in one of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations.

The all-inclusive, all-suite resort completed a multi-million dollar renewal project in 2007 that encompassed all of the resort’s 317 one- and two-bedroom suites, sparkling swimming pools and contemporary lounge as well as the addition of a new Italian restaurant, Capri. The hotelier also invested in a comprehensive beach rejuvenation program, which enhanced one of Puerto Vallarta’s most enchanting beach coves on the beautiful Mismaloya Bay.

The resort achieved the coveted AAA Four Diamond status as well as designation from Green Globe, the leading certification program for sustainability in travel and tourism. It also received the distinctive H Award for each of its incredible restaurants. Bestowed upon leading hotel restaurants by Mexico’s Tourism Ministry, this accolade serves as a further testament to Barceló Puerto Vallarta’s strong positioning as a premier resort, both for Barceló and the destination.

“The resort’s new name is a good fit, as it brings visions of picturesque Puerto Vallarta to guests’ minds. Because the resort infuses the unique characteristics of Pacific Mexico into its style and design, guests can enjoy an authentic, meaningful travel experience without leaving the property,” explained Claudio Zboznovits, vice president of sales and marketing for Barceló Hotels & Resorts in the U.S. and Canada. “But if guests are inspired to journey into downtown Puerto Vallarta, the historic district and its boutiques of locally made wares are just minutes away.”

Barceló Puerto Vallarta continues to provide guests with an unparalleled level of guest service as well as a fully comprehensive all-inclusive program, including an assortment of international fine dining options; unlimited use of non-motorized water sports on tranquil Mismaloya Bay; four outdoor swimming pools, complete with waterfalls, Jacuzzis and a children’s slide; an on-site shopping promenade; a state-of-the-art spa and fitness center; an adult-supervised kids’ club that includes seasonal activities such as snorkeling and whale tours; a pulsating nightclub; numerous bars and lounges; and a convention center with meeting facilities for groups of all sizes. Additionally, Barceló Puerto Vallarta is conveniently located at the starting point of many exciting mountain excursions, which are sure to impress those in search of outdoor adventure and natural Mexican beauty.
